I've only just realized that most of my family are SP's.

I do believe MBTI may be correlated with genes if it was proven that a person's MBTI type cannot change.

Anyways my family:

Father: INTP, INTJ, ISTJ
The closest I can come up with for my father. It is really hard to type him. I'm guessing mainly because he is trying to force a fatherly figure on himself (ISTJ). I'm thinking INTJ is the closest for him.
Mother: INTP
Older brother: ENFP
Younger brother: EXFJ
Me: INTJ

Mom: ISFJ (Si Fe)
Maternal grandmother: EXFJ (Fe, ?)
Maternal grandfather: EnFP (Ne?, Fi)
Mom's sister: ESFP (Se, Fi)
Mom's brother: ISFP? (Fi, Se)

There's something of an xSFx bent, but not much correlation in specific functions.

Dad: INTJ (Ni Te)
Paternal grandmother: something with Si-Ne
Paternal grandfather: ISTJ? (Si Te)
Dad's sisters: XNTP, xSTJ (Ne/Ti), (Si, Te?)
Dad's brother: XXTJ (don't know him very well)

Bit of bias in favor of Te (which is particularly obvious when my NTP aunt is around, by contrast).

I think there is a genetic component but I would suggest looking at functions not MBTI letters. It's also likely very complex.

Anyways:
mom's mom: enfp ne, fi, te
mom's dad: extp xe, ti,fe
mom: enfp ne,fi,te

dad's mom: infj ni, fe,ti
dad's dad: unknown
dad: infj ni,fe,ti

me: enfp ne,fi,te
sister: esfp se,fi,te

half brothers dad: extp Xe,fe, Ti
half brother: esfp se, fi, te

so in my family, XeFiTe is the only consistent thread which constantly gets passed in preference over the TiFe/FeTi combo?? However we dont have Si popping up out of nowhere. We also dont have IXXPs either or Fe doms popping up either...

ex-dad-in-law: intj ni, te, fi
(his mom:estp, his dad: ixtp)
ex-mom-in-law: istp ti, se,ni,fe
(her mom: enfp, her dad: istp)

my ex-husband :istp ti,se, ni,fe
sis-in-law 1:enfp ne,fi,te
sis-in-law 2:estp se,ti,fe

so in my husbands family, mom's type and the two grandmom's types carried over. However notice you dont have Fe doms popping up out of nowhere...

my son1:enfp
my son2: IXTJ-likely an intj

my mom's mom was an enfp so we carry the tradition on it seems.
my second son seems to have carried over grandpa's type.

my sister-an esfp has two kids
kid 1 with an esfp is an esfp
kid 2 with an estp is an enfj-however dad's mom was an enfj.

my sister law, the estp has a kid with an esfj. haha, they had an estj kid
so se,ti, fe plus fe,si,ne equals te, si, ne. like mom was carrying a recessive te from her dad?

this would be so much more straightforward if everyone had like fourteen kids...

so
Dad: INFP
Mum: INTJ
Big brother no. 1: ISTP
Big brother no. 2: INFP
Big Sister: ISFP
Me: INFP

Three INFPs in one family... wow! :O But I don't think this is genetic; maybe partly, but definitely not completely. Me and my brother take after dad, but for example my dad doesn't take after his parents at all.

Well....

me:INTP
Mom:ENTJ
Dad:INTP
Stepdad:ISTJ
Half sister:ISFP

My dad, maternal Grandfather are both INTP. I have an INTx uncle, as well.
I did not grow up in a house with any of these men, so there probably is a genetic component, then considering INTP is one of the more unusual types.
My stepdad's family(including my half-sister above who I grew up with) are mostly ISxx, which also points toward a genetic component. My maternal grandma and her daugher-my aunt are also both ISFJ, I believe, so my sister actually gets the ISxx thing from both sides, just like I have INTPs on both sides. My mom being ENTJ is a bit of a mystery.

Unfortunately you can't do a science project on MBTI anymore than you can do a science project on Creationism.

For both MBTI and Creationism are unfalsifiable. And so do not come under the purview of science.

I do understand though that some of your schools do teach biology and Creationism as science, so perhaps your school also teaches MBTI and psychometrics as science.

All of these types are speculative on my part, so there may be some error. Even still, I don't believe there is a correlation.

Mother's Side -

Grandfather: ENFX (may have been a sensor, but I am edging towards intuit)
Grandmother: ISTJ
(Note that these two were arranged, so this wasn't the traditional Western family)

Mom: ENFJ
6 Siblings: ESXX (One or two possible intuits in there, the three guys are all ESXP's)

14 Cousins: 1 possible ENFJ, the rest (minus the 3 1/2 estranged ones) seem to be ESXX's, with a stronger presence of perceivers.

My father's side is more difficult to tell, being that I live in the state next door, so I don't get too much exposure, though they seem to be quite evened out in terms of preferences, but with a leaning towards sensing.

Father: INTP

Though he passed away soon after I was born, I have heard enough stories about him to pinpoint him to an extreme INTP.

Funny thing is, I am told that I am just like him down to how I hold a fork. Never met him, but I am just like him. How type related this is, I don't know, it could be a genetic thing. Then again, I have also noted how some others end up like their parents. Yet they were raised by them, and I certainly am not an extraverted feeler, no matter how hard my Mother tried, so there may be something to type related familial patterns.

Further more, My Mom, being raised around sensors, seems to be out of touch with her intuitive side at times (she is definitely not Si). I am not sure if this is type related as well, but I can see the logic in certain tendencies in an individual being bent due to upbringing.

This is a very interesting topic, I've tried to find a conection betwen genetics and mbti, but all I had was the example of my own family (not tested, but carefully studied), mbti is not popular here

grandfather (dad's side): INTJ
grandmother (dad's side) ISFJ

Father: ISTJ
Aunt (dad's side): ISFP
Mother: ISTP
Me: INFJ
Sister: ISFJ

This frequency of I made me think of genetic factor, as I think the first letter is the first to be determined, while the others appear with time (being more influenced by nurture). But some results here have proved my theory wrong, I'm happy with this improvement.
