We are talking a lot about types. But those types have names.
Each type actually has a few names. But I will use the one that looks most common to me.

ESFP-Performer
ISFP-Composer
ESTP-Promoter
ISTP-Crafter
ESFJ-Provider
ISFJ- Protector
ESTJ-Supervisor
ISTJ- Inspector
ENFP-Champion
INFP-Healer
ENFJ-Teacher
INFJ-Counsellor
ENTP-Inventor
INTP-Architect
ENTJ-Fieldmarshal
INTJ-Mastermind

Do you see yourself in the name of your type?

Yea, it suits me well. If I dont know stuff, what is 90% of the time I invent stuff. I like the socionics thing "The Seeker" as well. It has a mystical guru like undertone :D

ENTJ-Fieldmarshal (part time gig)
INTJ-Mastermind (day job)

Being ENTJ with MBTI, and INTJ with every other test (including the weird eight-function test one that seems to turn ENTJs into ISTJs) makes it difficult to say. I feel INTJ most of the time, especially when things are calm. ENTJ will come out to play only when faced with an obstacle or persistent annoyance (see other threads for evidence). Perhaps I'm just a really rude INTJ.

I don't know how I feel about this name, I don't like it or hate it.

Can I promote things? Can I get other people to buy into whatever endeavor I represent at a given time? I'm pretty damn good at it, but its not what I do for a living, it's just what I do if I feel the need to.

For some reason the name bugs me as "Promoter" just sounds sleazy to me. I don't promote things that I do not approve of. I don't talk people into doing stupid shit for money, that's not my style.

So, whatever, I guess they had to name the ESTP type something...I would have preferred "BBMFIC."

No. I don't feel like I teach anybody anything, and furthermore, it makes me sound bossy and domestic.

i also think entp inventor fits too...in a way more so. i feel like it represents my thoughts and the other represents my feelings or something...i'm both i think.

Doesn't quite fit. I obviously don't build physical things. I don't have a drive to make things. Mentally it fits better, but still a little off. I construct a model of the universe in my head. But I'm not designing it, I'm replicating the universe internally. It's as if I'm solving a complicated jigsaw puzzle in my head. Each piece is gathered by Ne, and put together by Ti.

LII Analyst fits me better (like how I over-analyzed "Architect").

Yes, it does suit me. Warfare, weapons, militaria, military history and all sorts of armed and unarmed fighting are all major interests of mine :) I literally had thousands of WWII plastic figures of german, english, american, soviet and japanese soldiers when I was a kid. Still have them in some box somewhere... I loved to build huge battlefields of LEGO and all sorts of stuff and play war with my ENTP brother ;) Besides that, we made tin soldiers (Napoleonic wars, Thirty years war etc) and quite a lot of model building and coloring, especially WWII tanks and planes.

EDIT: As if that wasn't enough, I actually had a gang armed with peashooters when I was 7-11 years old. There was an opposing gang living nearby, and we used to fight them regularly. A lot of time was spent on actually infiltrating their gang, doing recon and things like that :) The village where I grew up is surrounded by mountains, and there are lots of WW I & WWII bunkers and old forts in the hills... Trust me, it was an interesting time. :D We had treehouses as our bases, and we collected supplies for these "fortifications" pretty much wherever we could. Me and my little team actually nicked a ton of shit from a couple of military storages :D Gas, tools, pieces of clothing and lots of other miscellanea. Bigger and more expensive things, too... But I won't mention that here :D

To be an architect is not about building things. It's about creating ideas for other people to build. :p

The architect is just the guy coming up with the sketch.

Those names are biased towards ENFP's. I mean, Champion? C'mon.

As for me... Inspector... not really. I don't like to look things over that much.

But see, I don't feel like I'm creating ideas, I'm finding ideas.

LOL, no, honeslty..it suited me when I was younger I guess. Nowadays, I just avoid conflict though, and you cannot do that as a Champion :)

When I'm properly stimulated, yes. (The most common compliment I got from teachers was "inventive.")
