Are there any reliable studies into what causes a person to become an S or an N?

Personal theories are welcome, but I want to know if there has been any official research into this.

We know S/N is the information gatherer. So it could be the physical environments influence on the individual from the point of fallin out of the pouch to whenever. But that's fuzzy. One could be born with intuition and develope senses along the way. Due to the fact that we are all born with senses. However, are we all born with intuition? Ok ok ok. Senses are a fact all together. If some or all senses are physically weaker than, say, the average normal strength of however strong a sense should be, then intuition picks up the slack. Yet, when a sense or senses is weaker than the norm, the other senses become stronger. Possably making that individual an xSxx, even though they have one or some weaker senses. Thus leading to the possability of being born with an intuition and trying to develope some weak senses. DAMN IT.

Sorry. Got an idea. Lets use a starting point. We know a dog is xSFx and only xSFx. That dog is born with senses and its environment developes only its senses. Lets say somehow it showed signs of intuition so prevalent that it can only be deemed N. How did it become N? Could have been born with N. But dogs decide from instinct and some learned behavior through repetition-senses via F. Senses and intuition (the information gatherers) are ...................CRAP.

Sorry. At what point does S/N become a preferance in a person?

Gotta say 'nature' for now. INTJs please step forward.
