Hi,
The enneagram/instinctual variants system seems quite interesting, but in an everyday situation, it seems fairly difficult to judge who is say, a friendly sx or an intense so. Here's a few questions I've been pondering.

What might they do/talk about that could help you decide, especially if you don't know them that well?

How might they act differently/the same, what stresses them out?

What if the so doesn't have that many friends, would they seem sx?

What if the so is considered low in society?

Who does the so feel responsibility towards?

Their vibe might hint toward something. Since sp is my second, I can come across as very reserved/cool.

I don't know this one. I think my ISFJ friend is sx first and she has a very flirtatious vibe like 24/7 whereas mine comes on and off depending on the present company and my mood.

What if the so doesn't have that many friends, would they seem sx?
I haven't started to network yet and my infp-ness makes it unnatural for me, but I will try it at some point. If anything, it makes me more sp, but my four relationships, I am very committed and loyal to them. They are all intense one-on-one to me, not just part of my 'net'.

What if the so is considered low in society?
I feel shamed, incompetent, inadequate, envious of others, ambitious of the future, plotting my way up.

Who does the so feel responsibility towards?
Humanity as a whole. I rather feel responsible to the 'mass' than one individual because I feel that's immoral. Humanity that transcends national and cultural boundaries. I find culture to be superficial and the similarity of our basic human needs more efficient in tying all of us together.

All of this is tied to me being INFP, so the outcomes would be slightly different for each type and ennegram number and wing. :)
