Well people it’s that time of year again. So I was wondering... what kind of booze do you put in your eggnog, if any? Do you drink homemade or store bought? Low fat or full fat? Favorite brand? Organic? Low sugar? Or do you hate the stuff?

Tell me everything

I love eggnog, but I can't drink it anymore. It screws with my blood sugar levels too much. Bummer. That pic looks good. ;)

That is a bummer. :( How did you like when you did drink it?

I didn't add liquor but I chose full fat. Store bought. Sprinkled some nutmeg on top. I used to buy a bunch of different brands and test them all. What don't I test? I even test tests. *laughs at self* When I was a kid I turned my bathroom into a lab. Now look what you've done. I'll be thinking about eggnog today.

I’ve consumed gallons of this. Alcohol free. It’s a damn holiday milkshake! The only redeeming quality of Christmas IMO. The super fattening variety of course. Any self respecting hedonist wouldn’t touch ‘light’ eggnog. You could hear my arteries screaming. This and a bacon sandwich with bacon for bread. Ah!

I've not drank one of these, my closest reference point would probably be a Snowball cocktail which I think includes eggs too.

There's something called a Nagasaki, its a cocktail from the (US) Office, its an egg nogg with like three or four shots of Saki in it, I'm betting its not the greatest tasting drink, also that its extremely strong (one of the only times in my life that I was really regrettably intoxicated, and probably will never forget as a consequence, was when I drank Saki of some sort believing it was a bottle of alco-pop).

Admittedly, my experience with eggnog is just about nonexistent, except for storebought non-alcoholic. My aunt has the Dutch version called advocaat, which interestingly seems to vary almost as much as any other version.

I am not a fan of eggnog. It is too sweet and syrupy. When I do drink it - very sparingly - I use the lowfat variety and I prefer to add spiced rum, but usually add brandy because that is what I tend to have on hand.

I have had some success making cranberry orange vodka, though, and prefer to drink that.

I make my own.

I always used to use bourbon but last year I was out and went with Disoronno. I've never gone back. It is so fucking delicious.

For as long as I can remember...every year on my birthday at the exact time of my birth my parents take a glass Amaretto and make a toast. Around age 7 I was allowed to start joining them with just a sip.

For me I just can’t image this and I’m a bit scared to try...but I will. Not this year as we’re miles from a store but at some point I will.

For me...Evan Williams with grated nutmeg...you’ve got to do the fresh stuff.

Ok now I’ve got to go help make manicotti. Merry Christmas

I don't put any booze in mine, because I don't drink just yet. I find the stuff a little overly sweet and creamy, and yet I still drink it. I like it with a bit of cinnamon on top. Pumpkin eggnog is also really nice too. My college cafe sold an eggnog flavored coffee during the holiday months, which was quite nice, I'm hoping to find it again.

I thought it was a little odd to see egg nog in stores in August but apparently people use it as a coffee creamer.
