Yesterday I was sitting in the living room watching our male Peekapoo named TedE playing with the pet toy Cardinal on the floor. As usual, the more assertive Pekinese pug (Bella) came over and snatched it from him, jumped up on a couch, and started chewing on it. But after only a minute of that, she watched glumly as it fell to the floor, and just lay there on the edge of the couch staring at it.

TedE looked behind him and, seeing the situation, walked over, picked up the toy cardinal in his mouth, lifted his head, and offered it back to Bella!

She snatched it from his mouth ungratefully and went back to chewing.

TedE is "your" dog, and Bella is your wife's, I'm sure?

It depends on which dog is being "bad" that day.
