Northern Mockingbird. I heard one imitating a car alarm, not too long ago.

A dinosaur-looking bird if there ever was one: the humble hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin). It eats leaves.

That Lyrebird video is amazing, although somewhat unsettling.

Wild tiercel (male) Peregrine Falcon (Falcon peregrinus anatum) transfers a prey bird from his beak to the waiting talons of his female falcon partner (I have monitored both of these Peregrines for 3 years)

Successful food transfers occur very, very fast. They take 3-5 seconds to complete. To photo ducument this spectacular behavior I spend hours waiting below their cliff side eyrie during brooding season. I have found that knowing your subjects behavior will give you the advantage of being in the right place at the right time to possibly capture shots like this.

I can't tell you how many times I have waited and waited and than because of a brief distraction I took my eyes off the bluffs, only to hear the Peregrines vocalizing to each other during their exchange but I missed the shot. This day I was totally focused and in sync with them. Luck was also on my side as I had good light and was able to swing the camera/lens up just in time to capture a four shot sequence.< ( what the photographer said about the photo )

Bat Hawk (Macheiramphus alcinus)
It eats exactly what you'd expect.

Brewster's Warbler (Blue-winged Warbler x Golden-winged Warbler hybrid)
Got to band one of these this past spring - stunning bird if a little species confused.

Lava Gull (Leucophaeus fuliginosus)
Because why not? Gulls are awesome.

A Phainopepla - lives in the SW desert areas of the US, down into Mexico

And a Common Nighthawk.... which you usually only see flying at dusk, making its call, but I lucked out a few years back and came across a drowsy one early morning :wubbie:
