I love owls. A little white one used to perch itself on the lemon tree outside my bedroom window and hoot away every night. It was magical.

I'm also going to use this thread to plug The Owl Service by Alan Garner. It's a fantastic book, and if you haven't read it, then you should!

One of my favorite apex predators of the avian variety. Gorgeous looking creatures, but they can be quite vicious. They hunt rodents, and I think they also eat snakes too.
