Going tomorrow morning, first thing when they open, much as I hate getting up that early.

First & foremost, I require one of my local grocery store's fresh-baked sugar raised doughnuts. I feel like I may not survive the day without one. They are delicious dense-yet-fluffy clouds of slightly sweet happiness. I'm buying one, eating it in the car, then diving back into the store for the rest of my stuff:

Saco powdered buttermilk

Boston's Best Jamaican Me Crazy ground coffee

stevia packets

unsweetened vanilla shelf-stable almond milk

big ol' cylinder of old fashioned rolled oats

brown rice

quinoa

whole wheat rotini twists

canned mushrooms

canned spaghetti sauce

canned sardines & tuna

shredded nonfat cheddar, & mozz

thin-sliced pepper jack cheese

store brand quarts of plain nonfat greek yogurt

eggs

zero-sugar coffeemate

red pepper hummus

no sugar added Skippy peanut butter

Al Fresco jalepeno chicken sausages, & their sweet italian ones

turkey burger patties

pack of boneless chicken breasts

frozen shrimp

frozen veg packages: spinach, kale, stir fry mixes

frozen fruit: strawberries, blueberries

Fresh produce: Pink Lady apples, Granny Smith apples, spring mix, sweet potatoes, avocados, hot pico de gallo

whole wheat burger buns

Wasa multigrain swedish crispbread

Gatorade Fast Twitch (just because I have a coupon for it)

Lindt Chili Dark Chocolate

a couple of Quest protein bars (oatmeal cookie flavor)

These days I just have a partial list consisting of things I'm out of and make the rest up as I go along. I haven't felt up to making elaborate meals and have been exclusively eating dinners that have already been prepared in some way.

I am considering going to Target more because I am getting bored with the selection at Whole Foods. Plus it has most of the crap I grew up with. That key lime pie at Whole Foods was good, though.

I think it's harder to do big shopping lists when you live in the city. The stores aren't always stocked the best, & sometimes cars aren't an option for getting it all home...

Target does have some good stuff. I freaking love their brand of hot salsas.

The produce and meat selection isn't as good because it's not a big store, but I like that I can find Klondike bars.

Is it wrong to complain about produce in an extremely small, mom-and-pop grocery store? I mentioned to someone I know that the plums looked tempting, but I got some last week and they were all kind of mealy.
