Why r they leaving coz of Money matters?

It's too expensive to live in Calif. You can get a really beautiful and spacious home in Arizona or Nevada for under $400 K but in Calif, that buys you an old home in a lousy neighborhood. I'm thinking that many young people are being forced to move out of state if they want to buy a home.

I would def more to Portland again, over same priced California real estate at low prices. I don't like cities, but Oregon is beautiful.

Ah yh I read an Article "Who moves to California? The wealthier and better educated, mostly"
Must Reads: Who moves to California? The wealthier and better educated, mostly - Los Angeles Times

I wouldn't be bothered by those moving out coz the ppl that move in r better.

You mean people who are CEOs, avoid paying taxes, are pretentious, vote for shity policies that affect poor people to further segregation of rich and poor? Yeah, they are not better. A state needs balance. Middle class health is directly in relation to a states health. Article is legit propaganda to entrap people there to pay taxes lol.

How are you aware of all that while still being a Republican (or maybe just a Trump supporter?)? One of the staples of Republican policy over the last 40 years has been tax cuts which only further perpetuate all of those things.

Yeah, I am not a Republican. I think both sides are just as bad. I mean, did you see that racketeering scandal that happened in my state? Disgusting. I don't really see anything ever being good, so I support deregulation more than anything. Because that means there is more potential to change. USA is becoming a complete Oligarchy. It isn't there all the way, but it is strong enough to turn the American people against anyone that would seek to undo it.

I vote Republican because I think socialism breeds authoritarianism and communism in principle. Republicans, despite being just as corrupt as Democrats, still push a lot of Libertarian ideas which I support. If you looked at it from the full potential of evil they could present, which would you die faster in? Mao China, or Nazi Germany? Id take Hitler over Mao any day.

Also, I am about 80% sure you made almost the same exact comment in a different thread, because I'm having serious dejavu.

That article seems pretty accurate. I would have moved there years ago if it weren't for the housing costs. At one point, I seriously considered it and looked at about 25 houses/condos. The other logistical issue is commute time. 101 for example gets absolutely packed during rush hour if you need to go north or south on the peninsula. The bridges are at a standstill. If you live in the East Bay, because housing is more reasonable, and have to commute to the City or Palo Alto for example, the commute is pretty long.

The people who think CA is culturally dead have never been there and know nothing about it.

I spent time in Southern Cal (my parents lived there) and northern Cal but I loved Lake Tahoe. Maybe because I'm use to living on or very near a large freshwater lake and I would miss winter but I found the place wonderful and would visit anytime.

But if money was no object...

Is Newport Beach better than Hollywood to live luxuriously?
