i am so in love with makeup forever's face & body liquid makeup (foundation).
it's got a gel like consistency, medium coverage that you can totally build up.
and it doesn't make my cheeks flaky. this isn't a matte foundation, and i love
the dewey finish.

P12635_hero.jpg

i use Alabaster Beige 32 (for light skin with yellow undertones) :
1057777_sw.jpg

the main reason behind the change is because i
buff it it in with a stila #21 brush for that nice
airbrushed look.

Nijntje i'd love to see your brushes, i'm itching
to get some more but i have most of mac brushes.
217 is my favourite!!!! <3 <3 now i'm trying out
some of chanel's and bobbi brown's. am thinking
of trying nars and MUFE brushes too.

i don't like laura mercier brushes at alllllll!

AAAAC2qw5gEAAAAAAXpmOQ.jpg
stila #21

for primer i'm still using the makeup forever HD primer
but now i combine the colour corrective colours

1097153_sw.jpg
1 Green (minimizes redness - ideal for skin with rosacea) +
1097203_sw.jpg
6 Yellow (lightens dark complexions) [for my hyper pigmentations)

and i just bought makeup forever 5 camouflage cream palette
which i realllllllllly love.

Ooh, I have the cream palette. Good stuff.
I <3 mac brushes.
Gotta try the MUFE products this time around, when I buy new foundation. :)

I just bought this, and I love it:

Kat Von D Lipstick Set.
6 mini lipsticks for $28. At Sephora, not a bad price at all. Plus, love the packaging. :)

if i rmember correctly, you said you had dryer skin?
how do they work under your eyes... i have fairly dry
skin too and i've noticed that at first application, i felt
it was hard to work with BUT if i just leave it to settle
into my skin... like i have to go do the rest of my face,
when i come back the concealer is just perfect. like
it needs time to sink in or something.

do you know which brushes you are using?
the ones i use most often are the 134, 217 and
i loooove the 231 for smudging/eyeliner/eyeshadow
my lower lashes

i use the 134 to pat pat pat loose powder.

and seriously if i can have only one brush,
i'd go for the 217. AMAZZZZING blending abilities.
so awesome for the crease!

omg try the primer. i bought the smashbox in colour
corrective purple (for brightening), i mean the texture
is definitely super silky, but i tihnk the MUFE does a
better job at keeping my skin balanced, and i have noticed
like flakiness with the MUFE, i've found that the smashbox,
even though feels a little more slick, doesn't do as good a
job of helping control my skin, i feel as though it's more a
film and i have to work very carefully with it compared to
the MUFE.

putting on my face i need sometihng to wipe

i have this! they came out as a limited edition last
christmas! the packiging is a bit different but same

i really love the shades, i can wear them all and it
doesn't make me feel garish! and they last and last!
i think sephora has singlehandedly gotten me into
these mini sets! because i never finish the big products!

i looove underage red, it's like berry stained lips. yum.

mmhmm: Wow, you're like the resident makeup expert. I am curious to see what your makeup collection looks like.

UPDATE: I am still in love with Sugarpill (I have all the pressed powders now).... I only have to swipe each eye twice to get the brightness I want on my medium tan skin (w/ warm yellow undertones) .

Do you have any suggestions on incorporating bright eyeshadow into an everyday look?

I typically put black eyeshadow all over my lid and put a layer of bright shadow above it.

I typically put black eyeshadow all over my lid and put a layer of bright shadow above it.

my makeup collection is kinda scattered, and jock can attest to this,
i do most of my makeup in the car. hahahhaha. i'll try to gather some
stuff around the house and take a picture, but mostly i really love buying
palettes and i'm a huuuuuge urban decay fan.

colours for everyday: shadows: i keep the lid itself very light, especially
in my inner corners to keep my eyes looking bigger and so that it's wearable
and doesn't look so drastic. and like you, i use colours just above my crease
(really invest in a good blending brush like the mac217), and again like you
i use a dark colour under it, specifically in my crease so i can just define it and
add depth to my hooded lid and keep my eyes a bit more open.

but in keeping eye makeup wearable and not too drastic, it's more of finding
a good balance to wear those bold colours...a little goes a long way. so in
addition to keeping the bright colours in my outer corners and above the
crease, i also use it under my lower lashline, going in just halfway not
past my iris.

as long as you're keeping the colours on the outer corner of your eyes,
above the crease, and don't go past the middle you're good to go.

and oh man i loooooooove coloured eyeliner, it really adds that pop of colour,
i swear by the urban decay 24/7. i have the 24/7 jackpot set and the makeup
forever aqualiner set.

Urban-Decay-24-7-Jackpot-Eyeliner-1.jpg

Urban-Decay-24-7-Jackpot-Eyeliner-12.jpg

i loooove electric (the super bright blue) for my waterline. totally stands out.

319538_2013692151991_1534430057_31566775_545095742_n.jpg

couldn't find a picture online for the makeup forever set, they're the ones on the right.
these are the mini sized ones, which are great for
testing out all the colours, they're super pigmented,
and works great right on the lash line (smudge it out)
or waterline. the other urban decay colours are missing
from this foto, they must be in the car.

but with the eyeliners you get additional colour without
overkill you know.

i've been loving purples, turqouises this fall. and have
been loving dipping into my urban decay book of shadows: nyc

299257_1995091606989_1534430057_31553851_254115055_n.jpg

these are fab because the way they arrange them it's
like they're in quads and trips no matter how you split
them up so it's very easy to play with the colours, though
most of these are very shimmery.

i'm actually really interested in the sugarpill eyeshadows
because they have a really good range of matte colours,
and that's even better to keep your eyes nice and open
(you want to create shadows in the parts you want to
recede [i have hooded eyelids] and keep it nice and
light/shimmery where you want to accentuate).

Antimony: basically any bright color. I have bright pink, orange, yellow, red, purple, blue. Type? Korean, combination medium tan skin with a really small double eyelid going on.

I recently purchased this on a whim, and I have to say I really like it. The only downside I can find on it is that it's a bit hard to get off of your face once it is on, but using this, and then getting it off with a scrubby exfoliant and then washing my face has been helping out a lot.

Basically, you slather it on your face, wait a few moments, and then just start rubbing your face with your fingertips and dead skin just starts to fall off. It's pretty awesome. I looked like a zombie :D

I am super-jealous of mmhmm's makeup collection!

Totally agree! I want mmhmm to do my makeup. :cheese:

What's a waterline? And were those smashbox primers eyeshadows? I didn't know eyeshadow came in liquid.

the waterline is right above your lower lashline.

lower lashline = bottom left + top right picture
waterlining = the bottom right hand picture.

primers are used to make makeup stay on longer.
depending on the brand/formulation it can also
help you smooth out your face so it's a better
canvas for you to apply makeup

it is applied after you moisturized, but before you
put any makeup on.

there are liquid, mousse, cream, gel eyeshadows!
they come in all formats! pigmentation/consistency
varies according to format.

my favourite liquid eyeshadow ever is the
chanel ombre d'eau eyeshadow (link). this is my
go to eyeshadow in the summer. it's very
shimmer and i just swipe it on, works with
a bareface too. and it feels soo good on
the skin, very cooling. and the colours are
very easy to wear. though it creases in my
eye (so i use a primer to make it stay in its
place). for eye primers i love urban decay
primer potion.

OH! Okay, I do that. I will get some primer and some of those cool eyeshadows. Thank you so much.

I know it's so 70's/80's but I have been having a SERIOUS urge to wear that blue mascara again>cobalt or royal.....Don't know if you know that used to be popular back when. Or even green. But mainly blue. Does anyone do that? And do you know a good brand?

Do you belly dance? Great costume. I do too. Though not in public unfortunately.

The ones I use almost everytime I apply makeup are:
219 Pencil Brush - I usually do 3 eyeshadow colors with the "V" technique, so I draw the "V" with 219.
217 Blending Brush - Yes, I love it too for blending the colors at the meeting-spots.
263 Small Angle Brush - For gel eyeliners.
168 Large Angled Contour Brush - For the application of powder illuminators and bronzers.
129 Powder/ Blush Brush - For the application of powder blush.
187 Duo Fibre Brush - To pat on Fix-Plus. I don't set my makeup with powder, because it makes my wrinkles look worse. I use Fix-Plus to set my makeup, and I pat it on with a duo fibre brush.

I can't wait to try them out. I love the mini-sets too. I have a whole drawer full of lipsticks I haven't used (lancome free gifts), but I go out and buy more. :) I like the mini-sets for the same reason, that I never finish the full-sized lipsticks. I tried to get this set last year, actually, but I was too-late-on-the-draw, so this year, I ran right out and grabbed one as soon as I saw they were available.
sephora is on sale in a week!!!!!
I will be there! :) I want the hello kitty eyeshadow/lip gloss palette, a hello kitty rollerball, and tarte lipstain set. I also want the benefit "the big 10" set. I haven't tried any of their products yet.

I love colored mascara.
YSL makes blue, violet, burgundy, gray (surprisingly pretty on), and green. (In addition to black, ashy black, and a couple of shades of brown.)
Also Diorshow Iconic if you want a blue that you can see.
My personal favorite is Estee Lauder More Than Mascara, which is navy blue.

Oh -- primers -- e.l.f. eyeshadow primer is surprisingly good for $1.
And I love Avon Magix Face Perfecter Primer better than any more expensive primer I've tried, if you're looking to keep the shine off your face.

Also I'm crazy for Dior quads, and going in the opposite direction from glam, Bobbi Brown for a day face.
And MAC cream blushes.

-makeup forever hd elixir - instant radiance and hydration serum
-mac mineralize charge water skin hydrating mist (this is NOT fix+ spray)
-urban decay skindinavia dew me moisturizing makeup setting spray
-fred farrugia lipstick sample creme lipstick + lipgloss in 05
-fresh! sugar honey lip treatment
-benefit high beam luminescent complexion enhancer
-benefit gilded tangerine gold highlighter
-urban decay 15th anniversary palette

haul! i've been trying to find a good way to get a
dewy more natural finish especially when i have a
full face of make up on (foundation + the works)
and i am really loving UD's dew me spray. it
completely eliminates that powdery finish, and
just gives my skin that wonderful dewy supple
glow.

the mac mineralized charged water is great too, though
this isn't a really 'must have' but more of a 'nice to have'
however, i think it's perfect for combination/more dry/thirsty
skin, as it gives that nice supple finish and really destresses
my skin. i use this after i wash my face, before i put on
moisturizer.

Yes, I have dry skin, but it's not flaky. It's aging, so it's really hard to moisturize, as the dryness comes from within. But my makeup goes on well if I moisturize. I have problems with concealers fading, so I apply the concealer over my foundation. That seems to do the job.

god bless this make up forever elixir--this is THE solution
for dry undereyes (this product isn't skincare, more like
a super prep for your eyes) it really instantly revives
under my eyes, making concealer to go on MUCH easier.
i've been using this alone on bareface days too, and it
super smoothes out the bags under my eyes, making it
look much more taut.. and young. HAHAHAHA.

my favourittttte item of the haul, i finally got around
to get the 15th anniversary pallette from urban decay.
GORGEOUS. i love love love UD palettes, the way they
organise the colours are just incredible, it's already
sectioned off into quads, trios and duos. meaning,
when you want to try different colour combinations,
you can just use the neighbouring colour. it's genius
the way it's arranged.

i am LOVING the hotpink junkshow. so pretty with browns.
