I hope you don't object to me saying so, Kat, but this looks to me like downright predatory behavior. This is controlling at a psycho level. It's like the leverage a kidnapper would use against his victim: "If you ever try to escape, I'll do X..."

i have tried to tell her that for a long long time.

even though my life isn't exactly the true college life :().

you seriously dont have any social benefit programs in holland that would keep you from starving if you moved out?

What would happen if you showed your parents this thread? I know you keep this forum a secret, but just use your imagination :)

You're far from fat.

In the northern/west of Europe, yes, you'd be considered bigger than average. But who gives a rats ass, you look fantastic AND healthy.
Most European females lack curves, even the clothes they sell are made for scrawny/ass-less surfboards.
You look like a woman. Parents will always find something to pick at, just mark this as one of those things, set it aside, and light it on fire.

My point is: Embrace your curves lady, its rare to come by!

Kat, your family is CRAAA-AAAA-ZZEEEEE!!!

Whose family isn't?

90% of the people on here have crazy families. She just has to find a way to deal with them that will suit her, without putting her in an uncomfortable position.

Fuck moving out if you're worried about that. Get a job, save up, don't buy useless shiz. When you're a lot more financially independent, do whatever you like.

I say withdraw more, keep to yourself, get a part-time job, don't listen to what they say, take advantage of having a place to stay/eat for free while you can focus on finishing college. Emotional abuse sucks, but you CAN block it out if you truly stop caring about what they say/think of you.

It would suck more if you move out and you actually end up in financial trouble that you can't get out of. I'm not trying to worry you more, I'm just saying that for now, finishing school and being able to focus on it 100% should be your priority, without worrying about how you're going to make next months rent, cellphone bill, electricity bills, food, water,etc...

If you believe you're capable of working, completely supporting yourself, WHILE going to school, then by all means, I think you should do that.

Doesn't Holland have a student-finance program like Sweden? I'm not sure....

so
The BMI is an oversimplification, but still indicative of trends. The fact is that you probably aren't even overweight according to this metric.

Some European data on obesity and mean BMI is here:
http://ec.europa.eu/health/ph_determinants/life_style/nutrition/documents/iotf_en.pdf

According to the WHO, overweight is defined as 25-30, Obese is >30
http://apps.who.int/bmi/index.jsp?introPage=intro_3.html
(also has statistics on obesity)
The mean BMI in the Netherlands is apparently 24.9.

I'm an American of the Midwestern variety, which means that I know obese when I see obese, and you're not obese :nono:

Yes, in many parts of America, she would be considered downright skinny.

i didn't even wanna open the thread because i assumed it was just enfp compliment fishing and maybe it is but from what i've heard you say in various threads is that you appreciate a fuller more voluptuous form and you seem very confident in your appearance...as you should so don't worry about your parents opinion and feel proud that you have a healthy self concept.

... I'm no ENFP, I'm ExTx leaning to S. ;) Seriously. I have no emotions. At all. Completely apathetic. I just wanted to know if I should lose weight. I feel great about myself, but my parents keep nagging about it. It's driving me nuts, so on one hand I'd lose weight for them, but on the other hand I don't like myself skinnier.

Yes, but it's nothing. I'd get 200-something euros a month if I moved out. I wouldn't even be able to pay the rent.

No. We have a rightwing government now.

being an F is not about having intense emotions, its about making judgments by evaluating how you feel about it instead of based on deductive analysis.

so left party has no saying on anything if there are more people from right wing in your government atm? or is it like that one party takes over the whole country and changes all laws after each election?

Balkenende sucks, eh?

Mark Rutte (right wing) is our president since last October, but Balkenende (former president, Christian-Democrat) sucked more. I don't like Christian-Democrats.

How should I make judgements by evaluating my feelings if I don't have any feelings? And left wing parties don't have much to say. From 2002 to 2010 the Christian-Democrats got to decide everything and now it's the right wing parties. Then I'd still rather have right wing parties, they make things happen. Christian-Democrats used their Christian ideals all the time, so they didn't move the country forward or whatsoever. However, I hate the drug policy of the right wing government. Making drugs more illegal? That's so stupid. Just legalize drugs and raise extra high taxes on them. That way you make money and who knows what that money could be used for?

I know you had a change of government, but since the christian conservatives have been in power so long and until very recently, I assumed that Balkenende's government had a strong influence on the current social system. Whatever happened to Holland, the paradise of freedom and land of open minded and friendly people I grew up with as a child? Am I imagining things and that paradise never existed or has thee been quite a strong wind of change these last few years (say, the last decade)?

Aw, I missed the main topic. Oh well, here goes:

Pfft obese indeed! Queen Fat more like it!

Nah, nah, you're probably ideal. You could afford to fluctuate a few pounds either way. I am very surprised your parents behaved in such a way, etc, etc.

That paradise existed, but it's gone now. Just like the seventies. Dead and gone. Okay, there's still a little bit left of it, but it's nearly nothing. Well, there's still a bit left in Amsterdam because I believe it always had a socialist government (do you call it that way in a town?). But in Amsterdam they seem to want to lose the prostitutes (but isn't that what the tourists come for? Clugs and tulips, my ass!). I wanna move to Sweden.:(

Thanks! I don't think I'm overweight anyway. I don't think I could be 10kg heavier than my mother and she's skinny, and even with 10 kg I wouldn't be overweight.

I just don't think the ENFP description applies to me. Besides, I've been scoring ESTP and ESTJ lately a lot. I rarely get F anymore.

Are you fat? No.

Are you overweight? No.

Would the average gynosexual find you more attractive if you were slimmer? Yes.

Would you be healthier if you lost fat? You'd probably lose as many health benefits as you'd gain. Up to you which health benefits you value more.

Would people act more favourably towards you if you lost some fat? Yes, most likely.

Okay, thanks, because I was starting to worry. Especially after my mother started ranting about "you may like the way your body looks, but others definately don't!". But science says I'm looking good? Anyways, I don't know how I'd get that €10000 this quickly. I'm a fucking student! My mother thinks I'm 170 pounds right now and that my boobs must be hanging on the floor if I weren't wearing a bra. She's mad.

Does your mom have this poster in her bedroom? :
