Hello all,
I just thought I'd like to share that I've come down with the three common Covid-19 symptoms (dry cough, shortness of breath, fever) but because there is no testing available in my area yet, I've been instructed by my doctor and my boss to stay home. I don't know if I have it or not. I'm really hoping I don't, I've been in contact with my parents who are in regular contact with my older brother who just got out of surgery (and is therefore not in the best medical shape right now).
Anyone else under lockdown, voluntarily or otherwise?

I'm sorry to hear! Not under lockdown yet, but there are rumors flying around that the whole of Bangkok might be soon, since our neighbor Malaysia has already done it. Get well soon!

Oy, hope you get well soon. Quarantine sounds reasonable.
We (two adults and two little children) are under selfimposed lockdown except for grocery shopping. Everything is closed anyway, even the playgrounds. The main challenge is to keep the kids occupied and not go on each others nerves.
We do it because we can (I'm working from home anyway and my SO is a teacher whose school closed down) and because we don't have much of a choice anyway as everything closes down.
What's annoying is that we were going to get married next month and will now have to cancel the wedding (civil registry already doesn't allow friends and family to attend, trains and hotels might close down too, father-in-law has damaged lungs and my brother would have to cross one of the few borders that haven't already closed but very soon might also close)The good life is one inspired by love and guided by knowledge. Hope you are okay or at least that it is all manageable and not severe.
I've been sick twice recently and have felt a little off recently, but it doesn't seem to align with covid-19 stuff.
My city/state is not under total lockdown, although the governor has shut down casinos and racetracks, and a lot of things are shutting down. (Many restaurants are shifting to take out orders, for example, or delivery, to minimize contact.) My agency has just shut down all FOs nationally aside from skeleton crews to take claims via phone; and HQ is now essentially on full-time telework starting yesterday. We're used to that... aside that now due to load we've had some trouble with meeting call-in numbers being overloaded.
My gaming group (weds) is moving online (or canceling temporarily -- we're still exploring Roll20 and stuff).
Considering those were my only two outlets I left the house for, I'm pretty much on self-imposed lockdown aside from pharmacy or grocery runs. It sounds like even the big movie chains are shutting down now for a month."Hey Capa -- We're only stardust." ~ "Sunshine"

I hope you don't have it but if you do have it I hope it doesn't get too bad.
I am not under quarantine but I am thinking about asking my work to let me work from home, as my wife is potentially high risk and I want to limit my contact with the public to lessen her chances of infection.Red Memories liked this post

the official position here is “At this time, we are suggesting you live your life as you would normally. Rely on your best judgment as you determine your own risk.”... some schools have been shut down by local districts, but nothing else has been impacted much except by decisions made by the public....

Oh man, I hope you feel better soon.
My husband and I were both sick 3 weeks ago. (Cough, fever, general muscle aches and inability to get much air in without coughing. Sore throat but I think that was from the cough - which was somewhat unproductive). We are better but still have a bit of cough.
We were never tested of course because there were no tests but our doc checked in with us every day. Maybe we had it, maybe we didn't. But I think no because everyone I have heard are having real breathing issues with it, shortness of breath or worse. But we are both working from home and keeping an eye on the neighbors who are older. My own parents both smoke and have compromised respiratory (COPD) issues and pretty much think this is all blown out of proportion. They call when they want to talk at me, not to me so I don't have a lot to say on them.
Working from home, so far everything is good.I like to rock n' roll all night and *part* of every day. I usually have errands... I can only rock from like 1-3.

All,
Thank you for the well wishes. Cough is dry, chest congestion is my bigger concern, it seems to be slowly but steadily getting worse. I called my doctors to see about getting tested, they told me to call the hospital, who told me to call the local health department...whose phones keep hanging up every time I call them.
So yeah, I have no idea whats going on but I'm playing it safe. Fortunately I can do 98% of my job from home so I've still been taking phone calls and responding to emails. Talking is becoming an issue, I get pain in my chest that starts to radiate outward the longer I speak. Been sitting at my computer screen in mostly silence for the last few hours and I'm feeling mostly fine. Started to feel bad again when I had to argue with a tenant who is 6 months behind on their rent why the owner isn't willing to give them anymore time.
Will keep on soldiering on. Just hoping my wife doesn't get anything, she seems to be OK for the time beingDeered to kill a king's dare
