On hiatus recently, I was introduced to the positive effects of gratitude on mental health. I was skeptical at first, but it really does seem to help. How Gratitude Changes You and Your Brain

So this thread is dedicated to gratitude. It can be gratitude to God, another member, or just like a random grateful thought, e.g. life would be rather awkward without toilet paper... I’m grateful for the in invention of toilet paper.

Enjoy.

Eyeglasses. Toilet paper, yes. Modern dentistry. Indoor plumbing. Gas heat. Central AC. Clean water.

The internet which has allowed me to meet wonderful people I wouldn't even know existed without it.
Friends who are a source of comfort, compassion, inspiration, and love.

Gratitude for just being alive. Even when thigs are hard Im glad Ive still got the opportunity yo have just... to control my own life. Maybe it doesnt matter at the end of the day. Maybe Ill just end up being some sort of loser, unhappy and just- worthless. But maybe not. As long as Im living I get a say as long as I keep trying

I used to do gratitude lists every day, I sort of stopped but they did help put a positive spin on things.

Gratitude for being in a better emotional and mental space than I ever have been. Life still throws grenades and a constants stream of cabbages but I am much more equipped to deal with it, thank you great goddess in the sky and thank you inner me for crawling out of the abyss.

A family who I know is there for me / loves me
A place to live with my physical needs met
My handful of cherished friends
The fact that I have the freedom to drive where I please and do what I want
Drinkable water coming out of the tap
That I have a job
That I have been able to travel many places
That I have opportunities and choices in life that many people do not have

For puns. Because without them kitchen mishaps are just annoying and time consuming, but with puns accidents are funny eggsidents.

I am thankful for having a group of friends that really try to get to know me, we all help each other with our issues and all together just have a great time. Many people have to go on their journey for inner knowledge alone, but I have met people who are willing to go on it with me. Also thankful for the internet for bringing us together.

Pretty women
Fascinating
Sipping coffee,
Dancing pretty women
Pretty women
Are a wonder.
Pretty women!
Sitting in the window or
Standing on the stair
Something in them cheers the air.
Pretty women
Silhouetted
Stay within you,
Glancing stay forever,
Breathing lightly
Pretty women,
Pretty women!
Blowing out their candles or
Combing out their hair,
Even when they leave
They still are there.
They're there
Ah! Pretty women, at their mirrors,
In their gardens,
Letter-writing,
Flower-picking,
Weather-watching.
How they make a man sing!
Proof of heaven as you're living,
Pretty women! Yes, pretty women!
Here's to pretty women,
Pretty women,
Pretty women,
Pretty women
