Have you ever had one of these created for you or have you ever created one? Some of the videos I have watched on youtube, which I am going to attempt to add to this post or another in the thread, seem to suggest that it may be a component of some courses of psychological studies (hence the choice of were to post this) but also I've heard about some pretty cool genograms or eco-maps being created for imaginary or fictional characters and families (such as the Skywalkers in Star Wars) or even political ideologies (I can not find it now but I saw an amazing, not to mention huge, genogram like diagram done once for the "family tree" of socialism, all the icons available in a genogram, including substance misuse/addictions, mental health issues, abortion, broken relationship, distance or closeness, second marriage etc. had been put to pretty imaginative and creative use.

Is anyone else acquainted with the topic and interested in discussing it? I'm a little disappointed in some ways that the software for casting/drawing them is so expensive, its all $145 plus, from what I can find, although some of the sources suggest you should just draw one by hand or draw one using microsoft word or scribblar (I dont know what that is but I presume its like a paint package or something).

I am only beginning to research or read about either but I have spent more time so far on genograms than eco-maps.
