my first and only love was sick from kidney disease during high school.
i saw him a couple years after we graduated in the grocery store, we went down every aisle and talked so much , he asked me out and i said i would think about it 3 days later he died.
it has all been tragic since.

With exes, no. I'm mostly a door-slammer, and apparently so are they because I haven't had any ever try to contact me. We broke up for good reasons, mostly incompatibility, and I'm (overly?) cynical about how much people can change. So the alternative scenarios -- the "what might have been"s -- aren't appealing in the slightest.

As such, I think I can predict where they ended up at least in a general sense -- I'm sure that the lackadasical one has probably settled down with a good ol' Christian boy and probably has exactly three kids -- and so I can hardly bring myself to wonder about it because there's very little to wonder about. Chatting with them again wouldn't be worth verifying these things, though, and I don't mind being wrong about them.

I do often wonder what it (and I) would be like at this stage of my life to be without a relationship at all, because there's a lot of room for speculation and musings there, but not really in a way that I regret getting married unless I'm feeling at my worst.

I keep tabs on all of my notable crushes and check on them every so often. I don't reach out to them because that terrifies me, so I would never want to meet them.
