I go once every 3 weeks to my therapist and once a month to my psychiatrist.
It works well for me right now and I have other means of emotional and personal support to fill in the gaps.

only in America, the rest of the world tries to grow up on their owns

Yes, America is based on literacy, and literacy requires psychological repression, and so literacy creates the repressed unconscious.

So America creates the literate individual with an inner life.

By contrast, India by and large does not create an individual inner life.

So India does not have psychology while America does.

So American psychologists or therapists minister to the psyches of Americans. This is because the American psyche is partly hidden and can be revealed by a therapist.

I go once a week. That seems like the standard, but it varies based on what the client needs.

Edit: It's also nice to see that many other people here are seeing/have seen a therapist. We're not alone.
