As in, IQ is so last season, you have Artistic Quotient.
You like baby seals so you have BSQ which is supposed to be important. (BSQ is from Baby Seals Quotient.)
You like to believe in "Creativity Quotient" although only 1 person have ever mentioned that in a peer-reviewed journal. Oh, and 7 self-proclaimed "creativionists" selling modern body-paint classes in the Baltimore area.

So, do you believe in these "Quotient" -things, derived from the concept of IQ, perhaps the most validated and well-established psychological measures of the individual?

Just tell me and let me (no, us) hear why this x-Quotient of yours is important.

Those who believe in Emotional Quotient need not participate. That concept is well established in the literature.

Now, moonwalk-quotient -believers, shitass-quotient believers, niceness quotient -believers and such, come on. You will be eaten alive.

IQ is most important for assessing mental impairment IIRC.

They used to have very straightforward names for people with low IQ. Nowadays many of such names are considered inappropriate. Such is the power of the concept IQ. IQ reveals the inequality of men and women a bit too well for the faintest of heart to be comfortable with it.

So there's these clones of the IQ concept. They give people a second chance to be part of the elite. If you were no good at math, maybe you'll take this SQ (Social quotient) test which does little more than measure if you suck up. And if you do, high SQ for you, congratulations! There comes external validation for you, just as you wanted.

IQ tests give some of the people so much of that desperately needed external validation. Sadly, not everyone can be given high scores in the IQ tests or the people would begin to doubt the accuracy of the tests and whether or not they are geniuses after all. So there come all the other "quotient" tests and concepts: meaningless, contrived, all make-believe.
