China and the Zeitgeist

In barely a generation China has come from nowhere to one of the richest and most powerful countries in the world. This is hard to understand and is begging for an explanation.

What has enabled China to outperform the rest of the world?

It is the combination of the electronic media and Chinese culture and language.

And why has the West failed to match the performance of China?

It is the combination of print media and Western culture and language.

Western culture is individual and visual, while Chinese culture is social, tactile, and aural.

And print is individual and visual, while the electronic media are social, tactile and aural. So China has imploded inwards under the influence of electronic media becoming the most successful performer in the world.

And while the West is still enthralled by print and is trying to repeat past successes by continuing to explode outwards, but alas the Age of Colonialism is over, and we have entered the Age Implosion of whole countries, like China. And of course the West doesn't know what to do.

What can we do to help? We can start to realise that mbti is part of the explosion of the West outwards. Mbti teaches personality, the way we communicate externally with the world. Interestingly mbti does not teach how to get in touch with the inner world. Mbti is outer focused while the world is now inner focused.

Mbti reinforces past values. Values that are well past their useby date. Values that are becoming more ridiculous every day, until they become preposterous.

The inner world is calling to us from the zeitgeist, but we are too proud to answer, and so grow up absurd.

Victor/Mole I think you should read John Birmingham's Axis of Time Series, it starts with a great book called Weapon of Choice, its time travel fiction with a near future, for us, fleet travelling to WW2, many of the future fleet "predictions" have come to pass and as the series goes on the future they have come from is revealed in bits and pieces, superpower conflict between China and everyone else, unpredictable and increasingly savage radicalised political islamic elements, Russia wiped out in atomic war, much of the US and Europe likewise from chemical and biological warfare.
