Your Online Avatar May Reveal More About You Than You'd Think : Shots - Health News : NPR

Long story short, your avatar is more likely to mirror/show your personality even if it isn't an actual picture of yourself, so that includes default avatar/pictures, cartoon/anime pictures, favorite television series, and etc.

Since we are into this, I wonder what my personality says about me based on the images I've been using. I suppose all of them may have some similarities because I've chose them?

Do you think your avatar describes you somewhat?

I think your avatars point to a person who longs for action and adventure, who longs to break free and wants to present a self-sufficient image or perhaps sees himself (or herself?) as such.

I'm sure there's some a common thread, but I think the avatars I've used capture different aspects of my identity. I don't think there's one avatar that could fully express who I am and what I'm about - at least I haven't found one yet. I think for the most part though, my avatars are warm and inviting. IIRC Hive once told me my online profiles and choice of avatars also command a lot of attention with vibrant colors. I think that's all the commonalities I can find so far.

From yours, they all seem to give off the impression that you're taking charge of your own life. I love the Haikyuu one. :D Also what Ene said.

WOW! Both impressions sounds so....... spot on!
Chanaynay Yes, your current one with Aang is warm and inviting, even playful :). It makes me think of fun!
Ene What do you think your avatar perceives as?

I've only had two avatars since I joined TypoC. They both say that I like cephalopods.

I like my avatar because it's from a funny story. I tried to change to a serious business avatar but I just can't do it. I like laughter.

Me too. My favorite are Humboldt squid. They hunt in packs, and they communicate with each other by changing their body color. :)

Humboldt squid are pretty cool. Highly intelligent, group-oriented, ruthless, efficient, and kind of scary.

Gasp! They're the ENTJs of the animal world.

It's actually his granddaughter Jinora. But they look really similar so mistaking them is understandable. Fun is always something I wanna remind people of. :D

"Whenever two people meet, there are really six people present. There is each man as he sees himself, each man as the other person sees him and each man as he really is." - William James

I think that avatars are also how we want to be perceived. Which is to say, how we want/wish to be vs. how we "are".

I think it, and the prior one, image.jpg, sort of state the same message.

Irl, I have a very elemental quality that these avatars address. I am both educated and primal, cultured and spirited. I am both vulnerable and formidable.

SpankyMcFly I love that quote.

Given my belief that my avatar tells everything about me, my avatar probably tells less about me than I believe.

Well half of your face is shadowed while the other is brightly lit, and your gaze is directed upward. This indicates that you have dramatically different personality traits, and you show most strangers only the darker ones while you are largely occupied considering lofty questions of a philosophical or spiritual nature. The t-shirt you wear indicates a disinterest in the banalities of fashion and disdain for the preoccupation with appearances in mainstream culture, while your conventional haircut reveals a utilitarian attitude toward grooming. The closed blinds in the background indicate that you like to shut out the chaos of the outside world, while you keep yourself occupied with what appear to be...rom-com dvds sitting on a table behind you?

...Okay, if it wasn't clear by now, I'm flailing around in the dark here. :D

Mine have been all over the place.

It depends on the mood. Perhaps I (subconsciously) choose them to represent how I would like to be seen, although often I just choose something aesthetically pleasing.

I like art that explores the interception of commercialism and aesthetics.

As for myself, I like to think that my avatar reveals my amazing taste in humorous art. :happy0065:

...But to be honest, I think it does reflect something about me. Not exactly sure what that something is though...
