There's research being done on the body positioning during sleeping and it's correlation on how it resonates our personality.
An excerpt from various articles:

857876_Sleepposition_jpgcd1efc9dbfef834d6bc243ea40a53aef

Fetus position - Long for security, intimacy and joy.
Take relationships slowly.
Tend to look at the world in rosy colors, and treat people kindly.
Are sensitive, though they may present a tough exterior to the world.
May appear shy at times or when meeting people for the first time.

Log position
- Try to get the most out of life but don't go to extremes just to "get ahead".
Are calm and rational.
Are giving and kind and make great friends.
Are easy going and trusting. They sometimes appear to be too trusting and naive.

Yearner position - Act with caution and are not easily deceived.
Have difficulty making decisions.
Are usually stubborn.
Are not overly excitable nor are they particularly sensitive.

Soldier position - Are quiet and reserved.
Set high standards for themselves.
Are preoccupied with their physical appearance.
Like to be at the center of attention.
Are open to new experiences.

Freefall position - Hold strong beliefs and try to have everything done precisely the way they want them.
Are tense, focused, and stubborn.
Are passionate about everything they do.
Are outgoing and brash, they tend to shock those who know them well.
Tend to be selfish. They are the most likely type to hog the covers.
Are sensitive to criticism.
Gravitate toward comfort and cannot handle tense or dramatic situations.

Starfish position - Are good listeners who makes friends easily.
Prefer not to be the center of attention.
Offer help when needed.
Are confident and optimistic.
Are not particularly keen on planning or scheming.

Do you think the description accurately corresponds to your personality? Do you think sleep position isn't an indicator of personality, but rather mood changes to the subject?

Mix between D & F, but I don't read much into sleeping position beyond the obvious.
(An example of obvious: If you feel like you're not safe, you will likely sleep in a protective configuration, etc.)

Also, sometimes it's just about physical comfort. I prefer to be on my back and can't sleep another way (because it tends to create the most even distribution of pressure on my body, which keeps my mind quiet rather than focused on the disparities), yet if my back hurts, I'll occasionally try to sleep on my side with a pillow between my knees.

I think I do all of them. therefore I don't think my sleeping posititions has anything to do with my personality. Unless I have multiple personalities

I usually find myself waking up in the (C) Yearner position

"Act with caution and are not easily deceived.

This description describes me quite well. I don't get into the more extroverted positions (B) and (E). Which I know holds true when witnessing my extroverted friends sleep in the same room while on trips or vacations.

Think I might be doing this when I'm awake.

I couldn't decide between the Log position and the Yearner position.

Yearner position - Act with caution and are not easily deceived.
Have difficulty making decisions.
Are usually stubborn.
Are not overly excitable nor are they particularly sensitive.

When I read the description, I think I'm most likely the Yearner... lol, but also the Log position type. Yes difficult making decisions, when it isn't clear cut. I mean why even differentiate between the two, they are so close to each other.

Soldier position - Are quiet and reserved.
Set high standards for themselves.
Are preoccupied with their physical appearance.
Like to be at the center of attention.
Are open to new experiences.

Nope, not by the picture or the description of the personality type.

Yup

Definitely me. Sleep like that as much as I can and apparently I snore when I'm in that position.

Starfish position - Are good listeners who makes friends easily.
Prefer not to be the center of attention.
Offer help when needed.
Are confident and optimistic.
Are not particularly keen on planning or scheming.

Nope

Well I would say more or less. So I guess I ended up picking 3 out of 6.

I toss and turn a lot. I noticed that I pretty much always rotate counter-clockwise. So I wrapped some copper wire around my bed and sewed magnets to my underwear and now I generate electricity in my sleep. :D

The Yearner is synonymous to unsavory things like INFP. Welcome to the uncool people club.

I thought people only do this when sunlight gets in their eyes when sleeping during the day... I stand corrected. Concentrate on what position you wake up to, that is most likely the position you spent throughout the night.
