    Indeed, it's completely ridiculous.

what's next, they raise the age of consent to 25? fuck that! If fucking people under age 25 makes me a fellon, you can send me to jail right now, cuz I'm a carnivore and I demand fresh meat!
    You're right.

people develop at different paces and that we need to recognize that when they are being counseled on psychological issues.
The directive doesn't adapt to the individual pace of the person, it etablish "everyone is a kid until 25" as a norm. It's different. And it's bullshit.

But since I'm bad at ignoring nonsense.....yeah, you're not just wrong, you're so wrong that it's both slightly amusing and slightly offensive. Even 25 year olds aren't in their prime yet, male or female.
whether or not my comment offended you is inconsequential. what is consequential is I've talked to numerous gay and straight men about this topic (straight men are more likely to be honest with another man than a woman) and listened to the opinions of plastic surgeons, two of which is in the following clip from 13:40-15:15 (I recommend the entire documentary. it's fascinating)

in a sense, you're kinda right (though my view on this matter is a bit ethnocentric. in plenty of countries, living with one's family unit into the 30s is commonplace). in another sense, it's possible to have a functioning adult brain and make rational decisions while living with your parents. I'm making one such decision by staying with them for the moment. sure, it bites my ego (more than) a little bit, but it's worth the safety and tolerable food (living off ramen, cereal and pizza is certainly something that would take time to adjust to). I have enough to move out, but, while independence is a key facet of maturity, so it being willing to temporarily swallow your ego to do what's really in your best interest.

I read a great quote once you know that said some people are dead at 25 and not buried until they are 75.

Mind you it must date from a time when people werent just mature by 25 but experienced the mid life crisis and disillusionment.

By official standards, yes indeed, I have had a job - at as early as age 13; I was a referee for soccer games.

I also do lots of traditional chores around my house, and I can kind of get my thoughts in the zone while performing them.

My dad does mechanical work, and I help out with that too.

And I'm also attending college right now.

So I have a fairly clear grasp of what it takes to be a family-dependent adult.

As for my real thoughts on maturity, I think it takes away our tendency to question things and be a rebel.

Just passively going with the flow and accepting the system will drag us down by its own weakness.

Lastly, it's worth noting that I have faith in my abilities to heal the world and be a guiding light for the human race to our ultimate salvation!

Bury your ideas in a vault for a thousand years to await the unfolding of human consciousness to comprehend your vision.
