Hmmm. I'm sort of stupidly happy. I find it very easy to be joyful about simple things. I'm glad for a food, a bed, to have cats....

Me too. I can't help being glad and thankful for the little daily blessing. Perhaps it does come from having experienced life without them, but that thankfulness stays with me; I don't have to play mental gymnastics to keep reminding myself to be happy.

My cats and dogs make me happy. As do my trees. And my tiny house. And the hills. And coffee. And wind. And rain. And my bed when I'm tired. And a shower when I'm dirty. Mosquitos definitely do not make me happy, but the hummingbirds do. And a smile on any of my cousins' faces. And my parents' voices.

I could go on forever.

No simple ways.

A good sense of humor (taking everything with a pinch of salt) and appreciating the beauty of simplicity help.

Get a cat who revels in life, and then look at him.

Pick a day, have a picnic with your significant other, cuddle up and watch the clouds drift by.

Sometimes it takes a time out to realise what is important.

Well, I have a few small methods that work occasionally (for me anyway):

Give some money to charity.

Try a new food.

Drink cola.

Buy a new book.

Try to guess the MBTI type of various characters, and the author.

Post something on a message board. (Yes, like I'm doing now.)

Listen to music.

Read something humorous online.
