People with bi-polar tend to go through phases of hypersexuality in manic episodes, though this is not always the case.

Often with hypersexuality bi-polar individuals will be more experimental and take sexual risks (sex with strangers, in public places etc).

While this does not mean all are bi-sexual it does mean that there is a larger percentage than the general population that they may at least experiement in that field.

This was my thought as well.

I have been diagnosed with bipolar type II (without mania). It seems to have been in remission (or whatever they call it) for years. I'm not asexual and I haven't met or even seen a female I'd want to get with, so I'm going to call myself straight.

I can see how there would be a correlation in terms of having lower inhibitions during manic episodes. It wouldn't change your sexuality, but it could make you more likely to act upon impulses you otherwise probably would not.
