I believe there are only two explanations that explain the labeling of certain children as Indigo Children:

- When a kid happens to be especially creative/smart/mature for their age, and instead of their parents leaving it at that, the concept of magical indigo children had to be introduced.

- When a kid isn't especially gifted, but has parents in denial that like the idea of there being indigo children.

Yeah, it's kind of ridiculous actually. The minute I read "para" at the beginning of any kind of field pertaining to knowledge I know there's little they can show in terms of evidence.

Some commonly-medicated traits, such as ADD, anxiety, and hyperactivity, have components that would be very useful if it weren't for the way that society is currently structured. Certain positive aspects of many disorders can still be cultivated, though they often are not. As an example of this, anxiety comes packaged with heightened awareness of the environment and of the self, though these traits' positive aspects are often overlooked; the entire mess is often therefore medicated and eradicated.

These quacks, however, are trying to repackage this well-known phenomenon to make a quick buck. See also: The Secret.

It's also damaging because it sets these children above everyone else. Rather than simply recognizing these children for their potential gifts, it gives them a sense of entitlement and excuses any negative behavior under the guise that they are "special."

Why not just say what you feel this Ni reality is. Otherwise it just looks like you're saying a lot of nothing. But I know you won't give a direct answer.

Apparently you can take a quiz to find out which aura color you are. Seems as plausible as any other way, I imagine.

Mine seems to be Lavender, very strongly. Closest second was Logical Tan.

Interesting! I'm a crystal, then lavender, then green, but I scored pretty high on the tans, too.

That test really interests me.

Correct. "Indigo children" are just a new age bullshit recycling of an idea that's been around for a long time, and has been much more clearly and reasonably explored and explained by others.

I surely believe that there are people who have the traits that are now labeled as traits of an indigo child, and it is probably becoming more common for people in recent generations to have these traits. For now, I don't believe any of the further speculations, especially those that have than new age spirituality flavor to them.

Here are these attributes of an an indigo child that I have found, along with how much I relate to them

2=Mostly 1=Somewhat 0=Not Really

They come into the world with a feeling of royalty (and often act like it) - 1

They have a feeling of "deserving to be here," and are surprised when others don't share that. - 2

Self-worth is not a big issue. They often tell the parents "who they are." - 2

They have difficulty with absolute authority (authority without explanation or choice). - 2

They simply will not do certain things; for example, waiting in line is difficult for them. - 2

They get frustrated with systems that are ritually oriented and don't require creative thought. - 1

They often see better ways of doing things, both at home and in school, which makes them seem like "system busters" (nonconforming to any system). - 2

They seem antisocial unless they are with their own kind. If there are no others of like consciousness around them, they often turn inward, feeling like no other human understands them. School is often extremely difficult for them socially. - 2

They will not respond to "guilt" discipline ("Wait till your father gets home and finds out what you did"). - 2

They are not shy in letting you know what they need. - 2
