Perfect 100. No margin of error or anything? I trust the numbers from CAPT, at least they pretended to do research about it.

Here's something else I found.

EDIT: This document said that the number of introverts and intuitives are probably overrepresented. I think there are many introverts out there that do a good extrovert impression. I thought one of my IN coworkers was an EN until I asked her if she had ever heard of MBTI and told me her type.

Thanks for the link. I assumed the Keirsey numbers were guestimations (he uses "around one percent", etc), but were the most reliable data I had seen. I distrust the numbers given by websites that list the statistics of takers of their test on the site because of the inherent self sorting of the type of people that would take a personality test online.

I'm rewatching Stargate on DVD and I think the shows have a healthy representation of Introverts.

Teal'c - ISTJ
Samantha Carter - INXP
Daniel Jackson - INF?

Rodney McKay - INTJ
Ronon Dex - ISTP

Well the numbers on the CAPT site were based on several studies and they show their methodology within the document and how they tried to control of such biases. I have a PDF of one of them which still puts the estimates of introverts to extroverts around 50/50, in fact one of them says the introverts actually outnumber extroverts. And when you think about it, the modal type for most people is either ISFJ or ISTJ with ESTJ and ESFJ running thereabouts.

Why trust Keirsey's guestimates when there's more trustworthy information available? Why is his data more reliable to you when he was basically eyeballing it?

Here's the reference for the article I was talking about:

Journal of Psychological Type. v36 Jan 1996 pp.2. Hammer, Allen, Mitchell, Wayne. "The Distribution of MBTI in the US by gender and ethnic group."

I've been trying to find more updated information but I haven't aside from that website.

Yes... the CAPT database isn't a collection of "web tests"... You can break down the population by test type, if you want to eliminate certain forms that you think aren't as representative, although there is almost no skewing for the I/E divide... but they are the full test, with a professional. That sampling is around one million, FWIW. The same breakdown is found across most groupings as well, such as work demographics and the like. It's about as accurate as can be.

I meant Keirsey was the most reliable I had seen before the CAPT report you had posted. The websites I don't trust were all the general personality sites that have versions of the MBTI up on their site (some of them very poor four question versions).

As far as actors go I believe you will find more of a skewed distribution among P's and J's than say E's and I's. Being a P is an advantage in acting much like it is in sports or like being a J in a corporate environment is an advantage. An actor needs to be able to react to the other actors and this really gives P's an advantage.
