ohhh they won't care if you intrude, depending on the disorder. I'm sure the Narcissists would like the attention.

After I read this far, I thought, "Wow, cool! It's just like being air-dropped into a zoo full of wild animals, so you can see them up close! If you can survive."

Since web navigation/access and mental coherence (enough to type posts) is a criteria here, that will screen out some of the worse cases; but probably the more articulate members of each grouping will be able to interact.

I will have to look at it, thanks! :)

Yeah they aren't really. I like the schizophrenics and the people with multiple personalities.

So what is "paraphilia?" Liking part? Does it mean people who love to leave things part-finished? I looked for it in the dictionary and it's not there.

Yeah that seems to be it. Most are coherent, but there are some fairly extreme cases there.

Are you kidding? (sorry, I just wanted to make sure you weren't being sarcastic and I missed it!)

It's generally used to label a sexual "fetish" of some sorts -- an obsession with a particular body part, or more generally, to some item that isn't normally perceived in a sexual way by the average population.

Nah...I was thinking about it in a weird way. Like "para" is translated from Greek, I think, and it means "part" in English, but "part of the whole" and "body part" may have different associations in Greek than in English...whatever.

Plus, sexual fetishes were already listed on there.

Never heard that term before, though.

Oh.

I learned it cuz I kept getting it mixed up with "paraphernalia" and... well, that's a bad thing. ;)

It's heart-warming how many dysfunctional people seem to be in relationships.

That Seanetal guy is annoying. I think they need someone more mature in charge.

PsychCentral.com has a good number of really fucked up people, too, but the content is weak because they consider themselves a "support community."

Beating within the chest of every normal seeming person in our society is the heart of a dysfunctional person.

(I don't know if that's true or not, but it was just a nifty thing to say.)

are you saying he has a napolean complex?

Yes, I think beating in the head of every normal-seeming person is the brain of a dysfunctional person, Jennifer. Hee.

In our society certain types of illness are considered a plus for an employee! There seems to be an inate tendency in us to rank emotional/mental problems in order of desirability. Humans - such a pain in the pocket we are.

Now my curiousity is aroused and I have to go scope this guy out.

I didn't see said person after a quick glance. But, oh lawdy, them folks don't know how to spell, Jennifer. Disgusting to my sensibilities, indeed. ;)

And I see they have a thread addressing "sexual prestation." Hmm. Something new.
