What does it look like when a 9 is stressed?

Do they lie about their personal truth, because they know that honesty will create a conflict that they want to avoid?

Any experiences are welcome. Please include the wing of the 9 that you're talking about, because that's an important factor. Without a wing, I will assume that you don't know the wing.

I've seen some lie about their personal truths to avoid conflict when stressed. 9 disintegrates to 6, so generally you'll have someone who's normally fairly calm and easygoing become mildly suspicious and reactive or, since they're positive triad, dissociate from what's stressing them out and avoid the problem completely if they can/ become overly accommodating. Overall, there would be a lot of withdrawal regardless of which defense mechanism is taken.

9w8 since you have the 8 reactivity I'd imagine might lean towards suspicion and reactivity when stressed while 9w1s might lean towards overly accommodating others since 1 is a compliant type, though that's only a guess.
