I'm a 1, but I love making decisions.

Always strikes me as odd when people say they don't. I don't like to all the time, and I don't like making decisions in a vacuum, but I will do it. By and large though, I do. I'm a bit on the bossy side.

I like making some decisions and can feel good about it.

I dislike making them when the choices really suck or I'm suffering from decision fatigue. That last one is really bad for me.

On my first day at work as an executive my superior called me into his office, sat me down, and asked me did I know what an executive does?

I had no idea so he was kind enough to tell me: an executive does nothing except make decisions.

But before we make any decisions, he said, we first find someone to blame.

This is the first rule of decision making he said. And it works.

Just any kind of decisions, or some more than others?
I get cranky when I have to decide between two options I don't like. But besides that, even tough decisions that seem intimidating end up being fun to make -- or at least I'm happy when they're made. Decisions, more often than not, mean closure and certainty, and I love both of those things.

ok, from a typological standpoint, i experience a lot of conflict when it comes to whether or not i like to make decisions.

Ne tells me: there's always more to consider. things always have the potential to change and often do. anti-decision making.

Fi tells me: this is right or wrong. you must be decisive and stand up for what is true and just.

e7 tells me: don't let anyone take the power of decision making away from you ever! no one will decide anything for me.

e6 tells me: shit, you're gonna totally mess up this decision. better get some help so you don't F it all up. OR it tells me: screw everyone for trying to make me conform. i don't trust the establishment and i need to protect my right to operate independently of it.

I like making decisions when I'm armed with sufficient information to do so. I don't like going into anything blindly.

But even whether I enjoy it or not, I'm usually the one who ends up making unilateral decisions when I'm with my friends, because everyone else is so damned indecisive. If it were up to them, we'd all just continue discussing what movie to watch, or where to eat, until the end of time.

This isn't something I think about a lot to be honest!

I don't hesitate to make decisions, so indecisiveness is a quality that I struggle to appreciate. If anything, I follow my intuition too blindly and move forward without assessing all the options before me. The extent to which I plan the future (esp. if it concerns romance/relationships) can be somewhat irrational.

Hi :bye:

Thanks for tagging me. :)

I get a sense of relief in making decisions, so yeah, I enjoy making them. I always counsel people that if you feel stymied, or at an impasse, then it is better to not make a decision, and as the Rush song says, you still have made a decision.

Now that I walk with God, decision-making has become so much much much better! I seem to understand when to start and when to stop; when to decide and when to wait. It's really more about knowing the 'when' that knowing the 'what' when it comes to deciding, isn't it....Or knowing IF one should. If you trust God to get your back, then that helps you lose the fear that might be stifling you, allowing you to decide what you need to decide.

I love you. I suppose that though I value what you just said, I have doubt in myself.

I avoid decision making unless
a) I know the outcome
b) If someone else chooses the wrong one (I'm surrounded by people who don't think ugh)
c) If someone is harming someone else
d) If what they're doing isn't right
e) I have a gut feeling (it's mostly true)

Depends. One thing I know I hate with a passion is making decisions that affect other people, can't do it for the life of me, whenever my friends ask for me to decide on something that involves them I always say I don't know and make them do the decision-making. I don't enjoy being responsible for something that happens to someone other than me. Making decisions solely for myself is fine though, I can analyse it a lot too but essentially I'll just do what I feel like in the end and I usually leave decision making to the last minute if possible when I don't know what I want. I'm usually just relieved to have made a decision and know that I can move on from that, though I do like versatile decisions :p

Those are hard for me and so are decisions involving more than $10.

Not so much. I tend to put things off, esp the hard ones.

But once I know in my gut what I'm going to do, then I just go with it, and remind myself I can change the plan/improvise later if I really need to.

They are not always easy, quick or comfortable, but to be able to make them is a gift I do not take for granted. To a fault, I have a very low tolerance for keeping unsettled things in the air.
