I've noticed that it could be said that some types all people, almost all, relate to even if its not part of their tritype

I'd say that are 4 and 6.
Especially Fs relate to them

Why?
4 - feeling defective, like esential part of u is missing = well that can all be caused based on not so happy past that individual had. Especially sensitive people are likely to grow up and feel defective and other 4's characteristics

6 - anxiety, fears - what else to say? Its one of the basic human feelings

Thoughts!

I agree with the 4 and 6. I would also add type 3. Most people I know seem to want to be successful in life and feel like they are admired and recognized for what they do. At least in the United States, being a very 3-oriented country.

I think that western society is no doubt success oriented but i am sure, from real examples, real people, that majority of people DONT relate to type 3. Though I just read in one book about enneagram that on average level of functioning (in book called "comformist" level) mos people look like unhealhty 3. I would agree that they may look like that (not having identity and doing what is acfepted) but not reallythat they relate to type 3's core issues. At least not as with 4 or 6.

I don't think most people would relate to type 4. most people are too conventional to relate to type 4.

Yes, there's that consarned stereotype that, if you're unique, you're a Four. Nevermind the fact that no two people are exactly alike in temperament or philosophy.

i think depressed people could mistype as 4 pretty easily, but it's not that easy to relate to apart from that. i think a lot of people can see themselves in type 7, or at least want to.

I don't see a lot of 8s relating to type 6 at all.

Well yeah I agree, but that doesn't mean a lot of people have that strong identity crisis type 4's do (kinda ironic really, 4's probably have one of the strongest senses of self within the enneagram). If I gave a group of my acquaintances an intro to enneagram flyer and asked them to type me, I'm not sure they would get it right. That's because I've never really talked openly about my search for identity. It just doesn't seem like a topic that most people ask, at least not in the same sort of depth that 4's do.

I think u have w wrong idea what being a 4 really means. My mom is 4 and ISTJ and she is not self searching at all.

I would ask you to look into her teenage years. What you see is a type 4 who has developed after years of polish.

I don't think its as common to relate to type 5. I'm sure some find the intellectual aspect of it appealing but others will just associate it is as socially awkward nerdiness. There are plenty of people out there who hate being or doing anything alone, while fives need lots of alone time.

6. Every single person on this planet has fears and anxieties. Even when you read up on an E-type you'll find that each type has a basic "fear" which drives them into their fixations.

6 and 1 are the E types that I can relate to the least, followed closely by 2 and 4.

So no.

When I was reading an ISFJ description, I could relate quite well... although I'm definitely not an ISFJ. I wished for a moment that I could be an ISFJ, though, the description was so sympathetic xD

Back to enneagram. I would guess that NINE is the type that anyone can relate to! My mom and my aunt actually had a quarrel about who gets to be enneagram type nine... while I think I could actually be the real "nine" while they're both something else. xD

Other E type descriptions that have been easy for me to relate to have been 4 and 5 and possibly 6... but I've read about them only superficially.

don't see a ton of people relating to type 8. actually, it seems more like counter phobic 6s would relate more to the 8 at first glance. a less mature cp might look at type 8 and think "yeah, I love being aggressive, I must be an 8" whereas many 8s might look at it and be like "what, I'm not aggressive. people are aggressive when they're weak and feel threatened" (irony intended)

7... because having fun ROCKS!!!

Having fun's overrated!

Just kidding (see what I did there?). I (mis)type a lot of people as 7's, so I definitely think there's some truth in this.

I don't relate to 4s. We have opposite problems.

Fours:
-Envious of the good things in everyone else's lives
-Absorbed with self
-Too disconnected from the world
-Desires self-identity

People like me:
-Guilt-ridden by the bad things in everyone else's lives
-Absorbed with people
-Too connected to the world
-Desires identity within others

I definitely don't relate to 6, and not really to 4 either. I could see many people relating to 9 without being 9s, though, possibly.
