I float back and forth between my wings (5w4 to 5w6). Does this happen to others too?

I have taken several enneagram tests....always seemed to score the highest in 2, 6 and 9 (which happen to be the three most "dutiful" types). Even went through Enneagram Part 1 training (Riso-Hudson) and emerged as a self-proclaimed 6w7. It has only been after a LOT of self reflection, journaling, and exploration of insecurities that I have kept hidden from even myself that last year I believe I have finally figured it out....3w2. In a nutshell, I feel a strong need to live up to the expectations of others, but have come to realize that I'm actually trying to exceed them and be viewed by others as impressive.

Anyway, my point is that some people may discover their type Enneagram type very easily. But for the rest of us, it requires a deep inward journey....not a multiple choice test. I personally was in such denial about some aspects of my personality that it greatly affected the way I answered questions on the tests (which is typical of Type 3). The real insights for me came with reflecting back on day to day situations:

What is bothering you about "X"?
Why?
No really, let's cut through the b.s.......WHY?

I often gotten 9 as my top type. I've read the description of 9 in the general form and began reading a description of some characteristics of 9w1 and found I could relate to them pretty well. Especially about how 9's tend to be able to act similarly to other types (namely 4w5 and 5w4 for me.)

99% of the time I get 1w2, but I have also gotten a 6w5 as well. There are times that I feel like the a blend of the two, but definately feel more at home as a one.

4w5. Intellectual romantic. I've gotten 4w3 and 1w2 on occasion, can be perfectionistic, idealistic, and for moral reform like a 1, but I think that 4w5 sums me up the best.

I'm not sure I believe the 7 part.

Enneagram Test Results

You are most likely a type 8.

Taking wings into account, you seem to be a 8w7.

No personality test is completely accurate. Although several measures were taken to make this test as accurate as possible, there's always a chance that you are not typed correctly by it. Type 8 - 11

I took the test and got:

You are most likely a type 5.

Taking wings into account, you seem to be a 5w6.

Type 5 - 8.7
Type 9 - 7.3
Type 6 - 7.3
Type 7 - 6.3
Type 4 - 5

Wing 5w6 - 12.4
Wing 6w5 - 11.7
Wing 5w4 - 11.2
Wing 6w7 - 10.5
Wing 7w6 - 10
Wing 4w5 - 9.4
Wing 9w1 - 8.7
Wing 9w8 - 8.2
Wing 7w8 - 7.2
Wing 4w3 - 5.5

But I identify more with 5w4 or 4w5. I'm also tired and malnourished so surely this will affect my tests scores, which of course may or may not reflect reality.

I is a 3 :D :D :D

Took me a while to work that out. I watched cloudy with a chance of meatballs, ENTP 3 main character striving for worthiness all the way.

(probably)

If I were anything else, I'd totally be a 1. The whole "perfectionism" thing. But then I don't care about moral perfection, and I'm not really controlling of other people at all, so that's probably out the window.
