Notice the red and the bolded. We are not so rare.

So, these numbers are just from Typology Central members as they have self-identified? Interesting...

I am not going to answer that question. The answer is quite obvious.

No, they are from another forum, personality cafe.

So you're going to validify your type using statistics? I thought one of the first things they tell you is that any MBTI type can be any E type. You don't need to be an expert to know that. Yeah, it's pretty interesting that 20% of ENTPs are 8s at Personality Cafe, but that doesn't really prove what you seem to want it to prove.

Pretty odd that so many INTPs are 5s though. I bet you'd have less 5s here, don't we have some kind of poll here?

As long as its not 0% I am a happy camper.
Breaks the myth that all 8s are enxjs and Te users.

This thread only proves that a bunch of self typed and mistyped people are really good at self typing and mistyping themselves.
Personality Cafe?? wow! that makes these numbers legit :rolleyes:

Just saying is all..

I mean meh whatever, I didn't do the research,
You can take it or leave it.

Everyone was looking for some correlations between MBTI and enneagram, so here is some information to look at.

Interesting...I would have expected ESFPs to be 3s or 7s most often. I'm surprised so many of them are 9s. I'm very surprised that 3 in general is such a rare type for Se doms.

Let's see how each function in a dominant role matches up with enneatypes...

Fe = most often 2, frequently 1

Te = almost always 8 or 3 (occasionally 7 in the case of ENTJ or 6 for ESTJ)

Se = usually 7 or 8 for ESTP, but usually 9 for ESFP (???)

Ne = very frequently 7, sometimes 8 or 4

Fi = almost always 4 or 9

Ti = almost always 5

Ni = mostly 4 or 5 with some 6 and 1 mixed in

Si = seems mostly 6 or 1 with some 5 thrown in here and there

So it seems like 6 is the hardest enneatype to associate with a function. I guess the closest you can come is associating it with Si, but type 6 still seems rather ambiguous in general.

Type 5 seems most closely correlated with a particular function--Ti, although there's decent number of Ni and Si dominant 5s as well.

Also interesting is the fact that type 9 doesn't seem clearly correlated with any particular function, but it does show up most often in the two SFP types.

I agree with Babylon that it's strange that no ENFJs tested as 1s, as well.

Te is the most 1 function. Its concerned with order and perfectionism like filing things into alphabetical order and efficiency and meeting deadlines.
Maybe I am not getting it, but I don't see how Te correspond with eightness. I mean even if all the other types doesn't fit to be 8s, i don't see how the crown will go to Te.

I mean like even sociopaths like AL Capone have more Se than Te.

If I have to choose a most 8 function, it would be Se, because of violence and aggression.

Ok, I am trying to see the opposing side of view. lets assume I am completely wrong.
All enneagram 8s should be ENTJs and all EXTJ should be eights.
If you are an eight, you must be an EXTJ.
All the other types are not fit to be eights. Te is the epitome of eightness.

That doesn't make any sense to me.

I fail to see the logic in this point of view.
