GET THIS GUY ON A STAR WARS FILM. MAYBE RIAN JOHNSON'S TRILOGY WHICH I'M REALLY EXCITED ABOUT, ESPECIALLY IF IT INCLUDES JEDI IN THE OLD REPUBLIC. HE HANDLED THE FORCE REALLY WELL. DESPLAT'S MUSIC WOULD BE A GOOD FIT FOR THAT KIND OF STORY.

    I need to stop shouting.

    Rohirrim.

    THE best fight scene.

    World's most ironic scene.

Tarantino, the absurdist, loves his psychopaths and uses music to set the stage for conflicting emotions. NSFW.

Peaky Blinders Season 5, episode 2, used this song to perfect effect. As a generality, Peaky Blinders scores are epic.

    Quite.
I am the Cat who walks by themself; and all places are alike to me...

    For the cat is cryptic,
and close to strange things which men cannot see.
They are the soul of antique Aegyptus,
and bearer of tales from forgotten cities in Meroë and Ophir.
They are the kin of the jungle’s lords,
and heir to the secrets of hoary and sinister Africa.
    The Sphinx is their cousin, and they speak her language;
but they are more ancient than the Sphinx,
and remember that which she hath forgotten...

I enjoy when this plays during scenes of protracted chaos. Those sweet scenes where there's so much hell happening all around that things need to get a bit slow.

I find it fascinating mainly due to the fact that in real life I hear music constantly playing as if gently suffused in the background of reality, and the more stressed I get, the louder the music plays. I wonder if this is a thing inherent to the sentient condition, that anyone could tune into, or something that is like a burning bush: not the kind of thing one runs into everyday.

This movie is basically the guy equivalent of a chick flick but damn it’s a fun film. One of Goldsmith’s last great scores too

1:44 to 2:40 is my favorite bit, great for driving or working out

The piece above showcases what I suppose could be called “the arab’s theme”, then there’s the excellent Northman theme heard in the beginning of this piece:

I like the way Goldsmith juxtaposed the Arabic and Norse inspired themes throughout the film
