Before today, the Eagles were 3-6 on Opening Day under Andy Reid. I'll take complete domination of a team that will win maybe 5 games. Donovan looked great, DeSean Jackson was beastly, and the defense and special teams were solid. They went above and beyond my expectations. Next Monday night at Dallas will be the first real test. I have the Birds at 11-5 or 10-6, depending on what the NFC East looks like as the season progresses.

My feelings about today's game were "Wow, cool! But wait, it's just the Rams." I think the Rams will do well to win four games this year, and I see them finishing the season with a different coach. I also remember how good the Eagles looked last year against a Lions team that was better than this Rams team, and how little it turned out to mean. Further, I'm trying to keep my expectations for DeSean Jackson under control. Rookie wide receivers are notoriously streaky and for the most part, disappointing. I'll be happy if he finishes the season in one piece, having made the return game a threat and playing a minor role in the passing game on third downs out of the slot and the like.

I agree, we won't really know anything about how good the Eagles are until next Monday. One thing I feel certain of though, is that McNabb is back and poised for a huge year. I agree with your predictions for their record, too.
