So now for some research

I know we do have a few brits on site but would be interested in hearing what the over the ponders think of the brit designers too. Be interested to know who you favourites are and if you ever buy them... some may be out of price range etc for some it may be more important than eating? I'm guessing...

Anyways if I have to start with one (British designer) it would have to be Vivienne Westwood... she has a classic asymmetric punk chic that I love... plus she herself is pretty right on and adding the two together is quite delightful... I love her eccentricity, it's fantastically British and she's wild... She walked down a catwalk aged 60 (or close) wearing nothing but a fishnet dress... even for a naturist/nudist -that's confidence.

As for Brits: McQueen! McQueen! McQueen!

Another British designer I've always loved is the milliner Philip Treacy. I would love to own one of his hats one day.

My favourites labels are probably Chloé, Dior, Miu Miu, The Row, Isabel Marant, Zimmermann, Jimmy Choo, and Charlotte Olympia.

I know what I like when I see it, but don't tend to pay attention to who is associated with it in particular. With the artistic fashion magazines, I love them but kinda skip the text entirely unless it has to do with whether I could realistically procure the piece that interests me

The one designer who's repeatedly caught my attention is Christian Lacroix.

I don't know how to explain the way his haute couture work affects me. It's so complex and carefully constructed, every piece is like a completed thesis.

Those few outfits have a fairy tale meets religion vibe to them... quite appealing... also there is a perfection and symmetry whilst still having some leeway for wildness in there... I like
