    I'm not a music person, so I hope this counts. Fun thread!
    “There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

    Like Charley Brown I fell in love with a little red headed girl. But she loved folk music and even took me to a folk music festival.

    I must admit she was the most wonderful girl I had ever met, but I couldn't see myself as one of the folk.

    So she broke my heart and took up with one of the folk.

    So you can understand my ambivalence towards folk music.

    I've dreamt in my life dreams that have stayed with me ever after, and changed my ideas;
    they've gone through and through me, like wine through water, and altered the colour of my mind.
