I have an irrational hatred for consoles.

It's irrational because it's not really the consoles I hate, just the fact that game manufacturers develop their games with consoles and their casualness in mind.

Hmm.

Dragon Age: Origins was probably the last. Although I still think Arcanum is the best game ever made (even with the bugs).

Arcanum is available on GoG. Graphics are very dated though, but gameplay and story are epic and there's an unofficial bugfix patch that deals with pretty much all issues that the developers left in the game.
