Has anybody read 'Growth of the Soil' by Knut Hamsun?

I have to write an English essay, and I'm looking for a particular part in the book: does anybody know in what chapter Isak supposedly meets God in the wilderness? I can't remember reading him meeting with God in the wilderness - maybe I was tired and didn't give much attention to it - but it is later on mentioned that Isak did see God.

Never mind: there is no scene in the book where the two meet. There's just a mention of the meeting, but that's it. If only I could find that!
