I just finished Identity by Milan Kundera. It struck several chords with me.

Both of these are amazing and changed my life. His Dark Materials is wonderful, probably my favorite trilogy.

Paradise Lost. New Year's resolution to read some of the major classics of Western literature, or at least ones I haven't already read. Starting with the old, moving up to the new.

Also, The Nine: The Secret World of the Supreme Court by Jeffrey Toobin.

in my room i have a pile of 8 library books collected over the past few months. i've read, past tense, the 1st chapter of each. that's reading by my standard.

the furthest i've gotten is in Red Dragon of the Hannibal Lecter series. secondplace is Language in Thought and Action, which i'm finding boring.

Finished, both The Golden Compass and The Subtle Knife! I'm on to The Amber Spyglass (all by Philip Pullman)... and goodness, I wish I had a copy of it! I'd be dog-earing and underlining things everywhere! (Yes, my books probably hate me.)

I'm gonna be reading, Atlas Shrugged (by Ayn Rand) for a scholarship essay soon... is it any good? I've read a bit of The Fountainhead and loved it (but never had the opportunity to finish it ).
