04-04-2020, 09:18 PM #2571Sassy is the cat in the moment of destiny...
For the cat is cryptic,
and close to strange things which men cannot see.
He is the soul of antique Aegyptus,
and bearer of tales from forgotten cities in Meroë and Ophir.
He is the kin of the jungle’s lords,
and heir to the secrets of hoary and sinister Africa.
The Sphinx is his cousin, and he speaks her language;
but he is more ancient than the Sphinx,
and remembers that which she hath forgotten...

Just started 'The Wise Man's Fear' by Patrick Rothfuss, book 2 of an apparent series, though he takes detailed fantasy writing to a level rivaling Jordan, lol. No wonder he hasn't released book 3 even nine years later, I can see at the rate he's going it'll never end, lol.
Also several days ago began 'The Quarry' by Iain Banks, and should be done with 'Land Without Evil' by Richard Gott (non-fiction history about primarily Bolivia and the Pantanal watershed/ far western area of Brazil) within a few days."...On and on and on and on he strode, far out over the sands, singing wildly to the sea, crying to greet the advent of the life that had cried to him." - James Joyce

I read that, and when I was done, I resolved to never touch another book by Asimov. If you manage to enjoy it, I congratulate you.
Anyway, I'm reading an English translation of Totality and Infinity by Emmanuel Levinas. At times, at many times, it's borderline incoherent.[ Ni > Ti > Fe > Fi > Ne > Te > Si > Se ][ 4w5 sp/sx ][ RLOAI ][ IEI-Ni ]
