I used to ride the train into Chicago on a monthly basis. It was interesting in that the closer you came to the city, the more sophisticated the graffiti became. Some of the graffiti in Chicago is powerfully expressive and well executed.

Ooh, Niffer, that reminds me-- when you go to a restaurant really late at night and there are tables waiting to be bussed, and on one of them some partygoers have made salt/pepper/ketchup/jelly/food sculptures. Waitstaff hates that! I find it amusing.

I like to mix the condiments together and make soup. Then, what you do, is you start up a game of cards. Whoever loses has to have a sip of the soup. Keep playing until all your food has come or the soup is all gone.

Cool. I laughed at the guy who collected underwear from "dossers" as I had thought to mention women who sell used panties in the mail, but decided not to. ( Not exactly "art" ( is that Abe Lincoln's face appearing in that stain ? ) but a parallel trend with the people sending their trash. )

Rhetorics. Nevermind the argumentative form, I'm talking about a highly stylised, though ballanced way of talking. It's about pleasing the ear, instead of bashing ones opponent in (wich can also be aesthetically pleasing, though not as much as stylised banter)
"I determined nothing."

The House of Commons, when on C-SPAN, is always a treat.
Einsturzende Neubauten's more carefully performed material was epochal, and still is evocative.

Graffiti is my favorite art form. If you're observant enough about it you can tell who the artists is from what they paint, how they paint it, the colors they use. I notice when I'm on the subway that grafitti tends to be better around college campuses and ghettos. What a contrast, huh? Between tends to be crap like "Kool Disco Man" and some such nonsense.

I just love this version of the Raven, by Poe
YouTube - raven
It's the Simpsons one. I know cartoon is art, but the Simpsons doing poetry readings, and actually carrying off, is non traditional. If you haven't seen this before, even if you don't much like the Simpsons, give this a try, I think it's a masterpiece of crossover between art and humour.
