Does anyone play the MMORPG EVE Online? I've never played an MMORPG because you have to pay monthly to use it. But I'm in dire need for a good space combat simulator -- it's a very rare genre -- to get addicted to.

World of Warcraft is a medieval fantasy game, and they tend not to hold my interest. But I find space games addicting.

Anyway, to the people who play it, what is EVE like?
