i found this hilarious the first time I listened to it... Then I met someone who listened to this song and empathized with it perfectly. Alcoholic, in and out of jail, drunk driving like it's as normal as tying his shoelaces. He had this on a burnt CD and listened to it quite frequently, even while bemoaning the repetitiveness of it. Eventually it got stuck in my head.

I think to listen to this is to miss the point entirely.

This is a judgment free zone!!!

I can't get it out of my head. :(

(edit: something about it is very "glam rock", but I can't put my finger on it.)

I have a soft spot for Dashboard Confessional, still. Terrible emo band I liked (& got endless grief from friends even then- who happened to know all the lyrics when they were drunk, though, hah) since I was 16. The lyrics are overly sappy & it's mostly just acoustic guitar, but it's easy for me to sing with, rangewise.

I'm not really embarrassed about it, but I'm well aware I should be. I blast it & belt along (LOUD) when I'm in the shower.. even found instrumental versions so I can sing it alone.

Shoulds can go shit in a hat, for all I care.

Shitty things bring me joy.

[Bunch of videos and stuff]

I remember their song played during the Spider-Man 2 credits. It was catchy:

And on that note, discovered this group in Saints Row 2 with this song, not really ashamed to admit I like it, considering it was in such a bad-ass video game:

Played during the Twilight end credits, didn't really hate the movie like some do, didn't really like it either (like some do) -- it's a good movie for insomniacs:

And played in Transformers 3, I liked all the Transformers movies:

So why am I ashamed to admit I like some of this band's stuff? I dunno...I guess because teenage girls have posters of it in their rooms next to their Justin Bieber posters?

I fucking love it though.

Saw the Lion King in London on the stage.

Best live show I've ever seen.
