Max Graham - "Airtight"

About 13 years ago I heard this as the 7th track on "Paul Oakenfold - Perfecto Presents Another World (CD1)" - it really blew my mind.
I've loved it ever since, and thus select it as the 1st track of my 40th birthday - aka NOW. :newwink:

Timing Info:
Song kicks in at 4:33
The first build begins at 5:03
The song's climax begins at 5:30
And you'll be chewing your face off by 7:40

Keep The Faith,

Ooh ooh ooh! This is totally my thing :3. Electronic music makes up about 80% of my library (or there abouts anyway). I spend a lot of time looking for music to listen to (though not as much in recent years). Music is super important to me, as it can be a wonderful outlet and springboard for emotional stuff that otherwise can't be outleted.

I think music is something that is best eased into and digested in smaller doses so for now I will only post three examples of somewhat recent stuff that I have come across that I am absolutely in love with.

FKA Twigs - How's That
Genre: Trip-Hop/Electronic

This woman is an incredible talent. It's been a really really long time since anyone has tapped the original core bristol sound from the 90's. Most that try fail anyway. FKA Twigs manages to do it, but also puts a modern spin on it that makes it something new and original. Everything she has released thus far I have fallen in love with, but this is definitely the standout track IMO. The video is mesmerizing too.

The Knife - Raging Lung
Genre: Electronic

The Knife are pretty much the pioneers of modern electronic music. Interestingly though, very few try to truly mirror their sound. You'd think pioneers would generate a new sound base, but what they really end up driving more is the stylistic approach they take to music. I am not complaining, because I love their style. They truly create unique sounds, and said one of the basises for this album was the use of instruments in atypical ways. This song is one of the standouts on the album. The full song is 9 minutes, so it is just a cut.

Creep - Vertigo
Genre: Trip-Hop/Electronic

Creep have been in the works for a while now, but it wasn't until very recent they released their first work. Their track Vertigo is by far their best. They got Lou Rhodes (of Lamb fame) to provide the vocals. There isn't a soul on earth who has a voice quite like hers, and it does astounding justice to this track. Each sound is nuanced, detailed, and conveys a very synthetic organic feel that is often sought after in this subgenre. The video is also very visually pleasing to watch.

Here's two different versions of a fantastic track by Orbital - "Nothing Left"...

This is the original. I love the video. It is a reminder to us that if we put too much of ourselves into materialistic, non-spiritual pursuits, then we will eventually become a mere remnant of our true selves, and a slave to that which we thought was going to enrich our lives, when the answer to the life we needed was right in front of our eyes: NATURE

...and here is an AMAZING remix of the track by Breeder - with some nice visualizations as a bonus :newwink:

Have you ever heard a track where the beauty of the music is completely at odds with the sorrow expressed in the lyrics?

If I ever have, none hit me so hard in the chest like this one... :solidarity:

JASE from Outer Space -
"Do What You Want" (Max Graham Afterhours In Montreal Mix)

Lyrics: (Featuring Claire Van Der Boom)

"When our eyes met
I just can't believe
You're with someone else

With, one kiss, you have me
I wanna look into your eyes
To feel a little special, place..

If you ever need me
I've been waitin' for so long
Startin' to kill me
What do I have to do?

It's like she's cast a spell
I wish I knew how to break it
So you'd take a little notice of me

When our eyes met
I just can't believe
You're with someone else

I'll be here for you
If you ever need me

I'll be here for you

I wanna take you away
We could forget about life for a while
Drift into a world of ecstasy
Where I can hold you

You look so happy with her
I wouldn't want to tear you apart
But whatever happens
I just want you to know

If you ever need me
I'll be here for you

I've been waitin' for so long
Startin' to kill me
What do I have to do?

It's like she's cast a spell
I wish I knew how to break it
So you'd take a little notice of me"

Max Graham feat Ana Criado -
"Nothing Else Matters" Album Original + Lyrics

If ever there were a song that communicated the beauty of love in its purest form - I believe this is it.

:solidarity:

LYRICS:

"Nothing else matters
I turn into
Innocent forever I find in you

Fall into the sunlight
Shadows disappear
Innocent forever I find in you

Nothing else matters
I turn into
Innocent forever I find in you

Fall into the sunlight
Shadows disappear
Innocent forever I find in you

Shadows disappear

Nothing else matters
I turn into
Innocent forever I find in you

Fall into the sunlight
Shadows disappear
Innocent forever I find in you

Nothing else matters
I turn into
Innocent forever I find in you

Fall into the sunlight
Shadows disappear
Innocent forever I find in you"

Most know David Lynch for Eraserhead and Twin Peaks. He's always designed his own sound and music for his film works, and in the process developed quite the style for himself. In recent years he started to explore music as a standalone entity. It's surprisingly well refined, nuanced, with that overwhelming surrealistic sense that Lynch is known for. Quite simply; it's good stuff. Add in that he still either assists, or directly involves in the music videos for his work, and it adds an even deeper layer.

David Lynch - Good Day Today
Genre: Electronic

David Lynch & Chrysta Bell - Bird of Flames
Genre: Ambient

David Lynch - Crazy Clown Time
Genre: Downtempo

Amnesiac is underrated (compared to Kid A). Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors is one of my favorite songs.

Sure they are.

Damn, they're talented. Too bad their mixing and mastering engineers think they're making top40 pop.
