The I hate f*cking football thread

I don't hate football as a sport... it's rather fun to play. I DO hate stadium funding and the strain that stadiums put on the local infrastructure though... our city paid a shit ton of money to build a new stadium for the Colts and as a result cut way back on the funding for streets, education and public transportation, among a few necissary local costs

I also find the fact that the game takes FOREVER and very little of it is action to be rather boring... I prefer football over Ti-Vo where all of the talking, setup, and commercials can be skipped and the game is about 45 min or so! Even so, the whole Colts stadium funding thing and the inconvenience in delayed busses I have to put up with whenever they have an event in their stupid downtown stadium has made me root AGAINST them in every game

If there wouldn't be professional sports, the people would waste their money on other kinds of entertainment, and kids would be even fatter because they would have less sporty role models.

I hate football because I'm a skinny white guy that could never play . That's why I don't give a crap. Not only that but while it's fascinating to hear people talk at such length about a topic that they love I just can't help but falling into my own world of thought when I watch those games. Thank God for replays or otherwise I would never see what's going on. Maybe it's better that I don't go to a live game. While I do hate football, I do respect the complexity of the game. Sure Jocks my be meatheads academically but football is definitely one of the more complex athletic sports out there when it comes to running plays and what counts as a disqualification. I think I do like that segmented nature of the sport versus others like soccer and basketball where plays seem to be happening in all too real a time.

The thing about football is that it is repetitive.

I don't care for it. I really have trouble watching sports to be honest (except hockey...there's a lot more unpredictability in if and when fights will happen and such...exciting!)

The only reason why I care for football is because I put money into it, and I love money more than I hate football...but I can't fucking STAND THE COMMENTATORS!! They are the most annoying people in the world, I'd rather listen to Sarah Palin talk about the great energy state of Alaska for an hour.

if you play football and you haven't yelled terrible terrible things at your best friend and/or threatened to kill them, then you are playing football incorectly. and all of your friends should all have injuried their knees at least once, and at least one of them should have blown out their knee so badly that they have been seeing a physical therapist off and on for the last 6 years but still prefer to sit down whenever they can. and you should have one friend who's shoulder or ankle or something clicks from an injury.

just like any football fan worth anything knows that your favorite team (who you love more than your children) and the team you HATE more than anything in the world, are ALWAYS THE SAME TEAM.
and you should switch back and forth between love and hatred for them every few seconds, and there should never never NEVER be any middle ground.

i love football.
