My opinion:

Airplane!: I love the original. It's classic. But, the second one was just trying too hard.

boondock saints 2 was terrible. i stopped the movie 15 minutes before it ended because it was so boring and awful that i didn't care to know how it ends.

probably one of the worst sequels of ALL time...

I think that every single movie( except the Bourne series) should NOT have had a sequel. : P

As in, any sequels at all or subsequent sequels?

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade should not have had a sequel.

I'm scared to see it, but a lot of people say The Godfather II should not have had a sequel.

You know I really don't go around saying this that often. Even sequels that are nowhere near as epic as the original, to me, add to the original in a way that makes their existence justified.... afterall, how are y'all gonna know how good the original was without some shitty follow-up for comparison purposes?

But then again I'm pretty sure Robocop 3 was a mistake.

I kinda like the marinara sauce analogy though.

Highlander. Highlander 2 has to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Pirates Of The Caribean. Okay, I get the trilogy idea, but why the hell do you need a fourth movie?!

This thread is crying out for a list of sequels that were almost as good, equal to or better than the original. Just for balance :)

The Godfather, Part II
28 Weeks Later
Toy Story 2 & 3
Aliens
Terminator 2
Before Sunset
Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade
Spider-Man 2
The Road Warrior
Evil Dead 2
Gremlins 2: The New Batch

What's that you say?

The worst sequel I can think of is Transformers.
