I've seen a half of Terminator about 6 or 7 years ago. Maybe I was just too young to understand it (10-12 years), but after watching a half of it I didn't feel like watching the other half.

I saw Blade Runner when I was 10, and I thought it was the stupidest shit ever.

Then I saw it again in my early 20s, and was blown away. That movie is a masterpiece.

Yes, 300 definitely made me vomit. It was nothing but CGI and none too subtle conservative propaganda.

That movie wasn't meant to be propaganda (in a political sense, anyway)... it was just slow motion ass kicking, made to appeal to the Y chromosome. Wasnt exactly a plot driven film, it was more like "You go Leonidas! Beat that creepy drag queen Xerxes! Throw that spear right into his ugly mascara wearing face!"

I liked it.

Shit was so cash.

I think Faces of Death, literally made me throw up when I was a little kid. Thanks big bro, for introducing me to that lolz.

Im going to agree with Edgar on 300. It satisfied the crowd it was meant to appeal to entirely.

The Notebook was a terrible movie, imo. I dunno if that's been posted already or not, but if it has, it deserves to be posted again.

Eddie Murphy's early movies were cool (48 hours/Trading Places/BHC 1/Raw) and then he totally went downhill. All of the latter ones (that I saw which is not many because I just stopped watching him...expired comedian shelf life syndrome) made me upchuck in my mouth. Especially Vampire in Brooklyn.

The Nutty Professor was an exception of limited note, except that it is the only Jerry Lewis movie which I could sit through too.

Yeah, agreed. Seeing his brother on movies or shows trips me out though. Like... WTF? haha

Trading Places! One of my all time favorite movies... haha. Feeling Good Billy Ray!

Oh yes Da Vinci Code was crap. I was actually quite underwhelmed by the whole thing and bored out my mind.

But you know what is great pseudo-history? Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. I can't get enough of that movie.

We're supposed to be puking though...anything involving infestations of massive insects or spiders freaks me out. I can watch horror flicks full of gore with people dismembering each other all day long, but throw a giant cockroach at me and I will become very upset.

Speaking of pseudo-history I got the feeling that 300 is also part of that attempt to trace a democratic "western" civilization stretching back to Athens and counterpose it to oriental stagnation and "despotism". has no historical basis but that doesn't stop them.

Sparta, not Athens. Besides pointing to Sparta as a model for Republican inspiration goes back to the when this country was founded, and was a theme of the Enlightenment in general - especially with Rousseau.

"Pineapple Express." There wasn't a single thing in that movie that made me laugh, at all. I suppose this is one of those films that gives people an excuse to get high and then watch it. However, one would be much better off renting an actual high-calibre film and then getting high and watching it than renting this POS. (If one is into such things that is.)

"Strange Wilderness." There was a single lol moment in the film for me. It was when they got high off the fumes in the RV and were partying. It was just silly really though. The rest of the film was decidedly unfunny and had no plot or characters. A waste of film, unfortunately.

Whatchoo talking bout Willis!
I loved Pineapple Express.
Maybe if you have some friends who are like the guys in the movie its easier "to get". Or maybe its INTP humor (I wasn't even stoned when I watched it and loved it). Oh well, different strokes different folks.

Oh geez.. lots of them. I'm a tough movie critic. My "terrible movie" list is way longer than good ones.

To name a few...

Freedomland
The Grudge
28 days later
Saw II
(All four of these movies had major plot flaws where if you took out one tiny factor there wouldn't have even beena plot!! There are lots of popular movies with this problem.)
There was also one movie a while back about running from the darkness, like "don't go in the dark" or something that was supposed to be a thriller. There was no plot except that people had to stay out of the dark or else some gorey creature would jump out at them and the darkness kept following them everywhere they went.)

Tommyboy
Talladega Nights
That other one with Will Ferrell where he goes streakng through the quads that everyone likes. The name escapes me.
Pretty much anything else with Will Ferrell
The Ring
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Most chick flicks.. (You might as well just watch the trailor online rather than wasting 9 bucks to see the trailor dragged out for an hour and a half.. I don't see any difference between the trailors and the chick flicks themselves...)
Unbreakable. wtf?
Shrek.

This thread is going to get me all worked up !
