No you cant tag up untill the ball is caught. The guy on second was already going to third so it was a force out.

The batter pretty much screwed them. They were either expecting ground ball, or he should of layed down a bunt.

No, they sent the runners hoping for a single through the gap opened by the second baseman hoping to cover, the guy on second would have scored and the guy on first would have been on third with no out so you'd have two chances a fly ball ties the game. Just bad luck, it was a well hit line drive up the middle, just really unlucky haha. Typical mets.

Hah, this was awesome. Really, the Mets didn't do anything wrong except hit it to precisely the only place on the field where this could have happened. I don't really blame the runners for not tagging, they were obviously running a double steal on the pitch. Every time the Mets lose an angel gets its wings :)
