Vulcan I can't listen to Ode to Joy without thinking about ideologically motivated crimes against humanity.

What does that have to do with songs that make you happy?

Sigh... why do people have to make a thread about music about politics? I don't have an opinion on the E.U, I just think it's a nice tune.

The irony of Ode to Joy being inspirationally murderous makes me happy.

It's been used by various political movements because it's such a catchy song. Politicians in the U.S. do the same thing at political conventions. Music as an emotional heightener, to reference the book version of A Clockwork Orange (which has a different ending).

It's not just catchy, it also easily takes on projection. I've read it, though I haven't watched it. Just running with my Ne here, didn't mean to make you feel like I was saying that you shouldn't like it.
