Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (often abbreviated BRMC). It's not a bad name until you say it out loud in response to a "who's this song by?" question & then people make a face. Then the name no longer conjures up Marlon Brando, but seems to be goofy & contrived.

Casiotone for the Painfully Alone. I just spotted them on my ipod. Glad I don't listen to them enough to have to say their name outloud to a friend.
Death from Above 1979 - should've checked to see if the name was taken, so they didn't have to tag "1979" onto it.
Dragonette - cheesey.
The Drugs Models Love - decent band, hideous name will guarantee continued obscurity
Echo & The Bunnymen - always found "& the bunnymen" to be goofy
Sneaker Pimps - stupid
VHS or Beta - okay, we know you sound like an 80s new wave band....

Limp Bizkit
Slipknot
Korn
Suicide Silence
Whitechapel
Emmure (lol manure)
Taking Back Sunday
Suffokate
Job for a Cowboy
The Village People (I imagine a village full of cannibals)
Cannibal Corpse (why not just 'zombie'?)
U2
Linkin Park (also the worst band ever, possibly, albeit tied with Limp Bizkit, most likely)
Neutral Milk Hotel
Hoobastank
Nickelback
Of Montreal
Apples in Stereo
The Flaming Lips
Any other hipster/scenester band

etc.
I get the feeling that a lot of your distaste for the band name is really related to your distaste for the band itself.

The Goo Goo Dolls.

I've always hated names with numbers in them, especially the number 3 for some reason.
311, Three Doors Down, 30 seconds to mars. There are lots.

And, don't shoot, but I never really liked the name The Who. Love the band, though.
Three Days Grace :(
